Hands up if you want to take good care of your skin but never have the time for daily masks – night time or day?
I feel like if I put that up as a poll, most people that I know would absolutely agree. Especially for those who live busy city lives, it can be really difficult to find that me time so Althea Korea created this product especially for us. This is the Real Fresh Skin Detoxer and it is a totally new release from the brand. They collaborated with Get it Beauty TV – a Korean beauty show that, inside from introducing new beauty trends, also features educational information with beauty professionals (dermatologists, skin care specialists, pharmacists and etc); and the resulting product is one that is truly unique!
This product is a 10 second, 2-in-1 (both a cleanser and a mask) to provide your skin with the extra care that it needs without holding you back from your busy schedule. I tried this out for the past two weeks or so and I’ve found really great results from using this! Of course, the product also has its flaws which I will be discussing too.
And, onto this review/new releases feature! It’s a bit of both.
According to Althea:
The hustle and bustle of the urban life mean non-stop hectic schedules, but that doesn’t mean you can’t give your skin the lovin’ it needs! Althea’s Real Fresh Skin Detoxer is a 10-second, 2-in-1 cleanser pack that showcases real, fresh ingredients and incorporates them into a system that allows a deep, clarifying cleanse while boosting the skin with nutrients and goodness. You’ll get both editions in this set: Rose (made with French rose petals + extract to refine the skin) and Green Tea (contains Jeju green tea leaves + extracts to purify). This product leaves the skin feeling fresh and looking smooth for a healthy, happy complexion!
I actually think that the above is a great description and so already gives you most of the information you need – so I don’t have much to add to it. These products are, essentially, 2-in-1 masks to both cleanse and treat the skin (according to which variation you choose to use). It uses real rose or green tea leaves and is marketed for all skin types.
To use it:
On dry skin, apply a relatively thick layer and leave on for 10 seconds. Add on a little bit of water and very gently massage in circular motions before rinsing off with water.
The packaging for this Real Fresh Skin Detoxer is very simple and understated, but the design of it makes it look very pretty still – this is definitely something that is part of the Althea style and I’m not at all surprised that it would carry over into their products.
The products come in individual cardboard box packaging – one is pink (for rose) and the other in green. The design is very simple, which actually gives it a luxe feeling. Once you open that up, you get the tubes with the masks in them. Again, very simple and with the Get it Beauty TV logo on the bottom.
I like that it is transparent, which gives you a good view of the natural ingredients inside. They warn that, because of the nature of the roses and green tea leaves, that changes in colour are totally expected and don’t affect the potency of the product. Even if we are told not to worry about it, I very much appreciate being able to see exactly what I am putting on my face.
The plastic if very soft and easy to dispense, which is great. The cap is of an average quality though – not poorly made at all, but altogether quite standard and expected.
And so, let’s go into the individual products!
This Rose variant targets skin refinement and is recommended for morning use. It is stated that it will help to rebalance the skin’s natural pH levels and further product and even out the skin texture, allowing for better make up application. It also claims to give skin a radiant glow (and we all want that).
The product uses 100% Premium May Rose, which is handpicked just once a year during May (hence the name). It’s a French ingredient from the town of Grasse and only blooms for five weeks. According to the Althea website: “[These] premium May rose extracts [are] more effective at balancing out the skin’s natural pH at a level 5 than normal rose extracts. It also helps to deeply moisturise and give the skin a radiant glow.”
It also makes the product smell incredible – maybe a bit strong for people who are sensitive to rose scents, but I personally love it. I have used a handful of rose products in the past (and like to drink rose tea) and I find that they’re really great for skin hydration in general.
About Green Tea
On the other hand, the Green Tea variant has a skin purifying function and uses green tea to detoxify, soothe and nourish sensitive skin. This is recommended for evening use as it will help to boost the skin’s natural regeneration process. Personally, I like this one best because my skin always feels so soothed and relaxed after I use this!
This product contains 100% premium Jeju green tea. Apparently, “Jeju’s green tea leaves grow under the spring sunshine, allowing the to harness the natural energy of the island.” These leaves, collected in spring, also contains Catechin, which is a substance that claims to have 5 times more Vitamin C than lemon, helping to protect the skin from UV damage (i.e. by brightening skin and reducing pigmentation). In addition, they also use green tea powder – which you can visibly see and feel in the mask – to help “relieve irriation and redness quickly by controlling sebum production and removing impurities from the skin”.
I used this product for the past two weeks and I can see, and feel, a definite improvement on my skin! I’m someone who is really bad at getting in my needed skincare during the morning, but this product definitely makes it easier too.
Using both of these in conjunction, I feel like my skin is a lot more hydrated and softened over all. The rose variant makes my skin smoother in the morning, as well as giving it a boost of moisture, while the green tea variant helps to cleanse my skin from a day of make up and soothes my problem areas (I have had some stubborn break outs for months that I can’t get rid of).
It hasn’t completely gotten rid of my pimples or break outs, but I feel like it will in the long term. The redness is reduced and they are looking less inflamed already.
Overall, I’m really happy with this product and I think that it’s doing wonders for my skin. However, I do want to make a note that this may not be the case for all skin types. Talking with some other bloggers, and even testing it on my mum, she told me that her skin feels tight after using the rose variant – which I don’t experience at all!
I feel like this product is probably not suited for those with dry skin, as it is partly a foam cleanser as well. I have combination skin that gets oily later in the day so, if you have a similar skin type, this may be for you!
And so, here’s the verdict!

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
This product gets a high rating from me and I would absolutely recommend this! I am very consistent with using the green tea one at night, as I usually just put it on before I step into the shower (and/or after I wash off my oil cleanser) but I admittedly skip some mornings with the rose depending on how much I sleep in. Still, they’re really easy to use and give your skin great benefits with minimal time needed.
I would especially recommend these for people with my sort of skin type. For those with dry skin types, I would look for some other reviews just in case.
WHERE TO GET IT FROM
All of that said, now is a really good time to grab these Real Fresh Skin Detoxers! I’m not sure if they will be sold separately in the future (though I imagine they will), but they are currently being sold in a pack of two. There is a special on so you can get two for the price of one, making this a great opportunity to test them both out and see what works best for you!
They retail for USD$22 as a set, which is a really good price, but if you purchase the set now it will be discounted to USD$11 (just add to cart to see the discount). Check out the Real Fresh Skin Detoxers Set!
