There are a few brands out there that are consistently bringing out great quality (and affordable) products and By Wishtrend is definitely one of them! Everything that I’ve tried from them has been really good and I love that a lot of their formulations are also designed to be suitable for many skin types – although they aren’t a ‘for sensitive skin’ brand, they often work towards having more gentle products with minimal irritants.
That all being said, it had been a while since I used anything from By Wishtrend but I was really happy to get into these two products that they sent over to me! Since I have been having some skin troubles lately and exploring different products to ‘perfect’ it (especially since my skin has been changing so much lately), I was extra keen to get into it.
Here is the Clear Skin Shield Patch (which I got into as soon as I got this package), a set of hydrocolloid patches which essentially help to drain out pimples! I love these products but have only used one brand (Nexcare) in the past so I’m happy to be branching out. I also got their Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule, which will be the first propolis product that I’ve tried out.
So, since I’ll be talking about two products in this post, expect that this will be a bit long. Let’s get into it!
Clear Skin Shield Patch | USD$12
The Clear Skin Shield Patch is By Wishtrend’s first (and only) acne patch which was developed after they received numerous requests. This is a type of product that I was introduced to a few years ago when I was living in Korea – where pimple/acne patches are actually so popular that they are a norm, and you can spot many people wearing them throughout the day. In Australia, they aren’t as common so I generally wear these at night.
These are hydrocolloid patches are acne treatment. Hydrocolloid dressings are generally used as a wound dressing but have been used in smaller patches to help treat pimples and also minimise the risk of scarring from environmental factors, as well as the urge to touch the troubles! The Wishtrend website describes it as “thin and breathable to naturally cover and quickly absorb impurities from problematic areas.”
These come in a pack of 36 patches in two sizes (two sheets of the 12mm and one of the 14mm) and are generally best for people who are prone to smaller break outs. They would work for people with persistent acne too, of course, though I’m just conscious that using individual patches like this may not be the most practical – you will need to be the judge of that though.
These patches come in a metallic teal packet, which I personally think looks pretty good! Since the overall design is very minimalist and simple, I think that the metallic finish gives the product a slick look. The quality of the packaging is also pretty good – it doesn’t feel cheap.
To open it up, you have to tear or cut where it is indicated. The satchet is resealable and all of the patches are also individually packaged. This is great because it helps to keen everything sanitary – it’s actually pretty common (and to be expected) from acne patches. The individual packages are just made from a plain paper and plastic, with the larger size having a gray print and the smaller with a black print. It looks okay – nothing too fancy but sufficient and effective! It’s important to note that these packets are not resealable, so you do need to keep them safely in the satchet.
My favourite thing about these specific patches though are how the sheets are designed! Each sheet has a perforated plastic backing so it is really easy to tear and use each patch – you don’t need to be fiddly with trying to peel them off. It also minimises how much your fingers need to touch the patches – you can even get them with tweezers for optimum hygiene.
So I personally cannot believe that I didn’t jump on these band wagon sooner because these Clear Skin Shield Patches are so ridiculously good! They’re a lot better than the ones that I’ve been using for the past few years – these are a lot thinner and so are more malleable against your skin, making adherence miles better. Since they are so thin, they are also relatively invisible on your skin (unless someone comes close up) so I was pretty comfortable wearing these during the day too. The only pity is that you can’t cover it up with make up, as the plastic texture will make foundation shift and look strange.
The acne patches don’t come off at all while I’m sleeping and, if I do wear them during the day, I know that they won’t come off until I actually peel them away. I can even do my full skincare routine on top of these patches without the corners lifting at all. If you look closely at the patches, you can see that the edges are actually thinner than the centre – which is why I think they work so well.
When it comes to draining the pimple, these also do a really good job – and quickly too. For very small pimples, I only need to use this once but for others it will take a few patches to fully heal the blemish. These sort of patches also work best on active break outs, as they essentially protect and heal open wounds (if you know what I mean).

THOUGHTS? Overall, I really loved these and I don’t think I can go back to the ones that I was using before. Previously to this, I thought that all of the acne patches were the same but I’ve clearly been proved wrong. These are a new favourite and, in the future, I’m definitely opening myself up to trying out some other brands too!
Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule | USD$32
The other product that I’ve been testing out from By Wishtrend is their Polyphenols in Propolis 15% Ampoule, a product targeted for acne prone and sensitive skin. It has antioxidants and strong anti-inflammatory benefits, as well as multiple ingredients to provide added hydration and moisture to the skin. The four main ingredients is as follows:
- Propolis Extract
- Houttuynia Cordata
- Sodium Hyaluronate
The hero of this ampoule is definitely the use of propolis extract, which is a “proven source of various acne skin improvement. It is also known for reducing skin inflammation, reducing flushed skin and pigmentation, and increasing skin moisture content.”
This sells on the Wishtrend website for USD$32 – which isn’t cheap but is a fair price when compared with some other kbeauty ampoules. I used this as part of my night skincare routine, applying it after my toner and SKII essence.
When I first got this product, I had really high hopes for it but I unfortunately found that it isn’t that suitable for my skin type. Although I didn’t have any break outs or adverse effects from it, and found that it did help to hydrate and soothe skin well, the texture of this ampoule doesn’t work the best on my oily-combination skin. More on that later on.
The packaging of this Propolis 15% Ampoule is actually really nice! I like the metallic finish (which is orange for this product) and the subtle pattern on the box – you can see the lines above – give it a metal chrome feel. The overall impression of the unit carton design is very simple but high end. The cardboard quality feels good and the finish makes it look fancier without being gimmicky.
I especially like the attention to small details, such as when you open the box and find the words printed – “You asked, we answered.” It speaks well on the By Wishtrend brand.
Opening it up, the ampoule comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. Its a decent sized 30mL with white labelling and gold accents on the packaging. Once again, I like how the bottle looks and the actual dropper is also a good quality. It’s easy to use and dispense the product, with a single drop being a sufficient amount for my full face. I also like that it is transparent, so I can see how much product is remaining.
The ampoule bottle is quite simple and compact in size, so would also be a good one to use if you are travelling. It can be easily decanted, of course, but I feel like this is light and sturdy enough to use as is.
So the texture of this ampoule really confused me. Reading the ingredients, I was expecting something quite watery and light – which is generally what I like in skincare. However, I found that this felt a bit oily on my skin – which is strange because I can’t seem to find any sort of oil in the ingredients list. For someone with combination oily skin, I felt that using this product made my skin produce more oil during the day (even though I only use it at night).
That being said, this ampoule did do what it was supposed to – it moisturised my skin (maybe a little too much), nourished and also helped to soothe my complexion. Although I got a few minor spots during the time of testing this product, I feel like they were due to hormones. For the rest of the month, my skin was generally clear and I didn’t get any break outs.
All in all, I’m just personally thinking that this Polyphenol in Propolis 15% Ampoule would be better suited for someone with normal to dry skin type, or those who don’t have oil production issues like myself. Alternatively, this may also be a product that I break out again in the colder seasons when my skin is a bit more prone to dryness.

THOUGHTS? I feel like my personal opinion of this product really had to do with my skin type – it just doesn’t work for all skin types like it claims to. I feel like there will be people out there who really love this product, it just isn’t for me and therefore isn’t one that I can actively recommend.
So they’re the new products from By Wishtrend that I’ve been testing out! Definitely leave a comment below if you have had a different (or similar) experience with the Polyphenol in Propolis 15% Ampoule because I’ve seen so many positive reviews for this product and I’m a bit disappointed that it didn’t work for me! I will either hang onto it to try again when my skin is drier or pass this on to a friend whose skin may enjoy this product more.
Otherwise, I am really really impressed with the Clear Skin Shield Patch and it is possibly one of my favourite skincare discoveries of this year! I would highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking to try out acne patches (or want to try something new). They are a massive step up from my usual Nexcare brand.
