I got this blush from the Too Faced Peaches & Cream collection for my birthday and, honestly, the little story behind it makes me so happy (and although I don’t think my friends will be reading this review, I will still thank them here for being thoughtful). The story behind them choosing this blush is that I’ve nagged them a lot about using their fingers for make up application – I generally don’t like to use my hands for anything, even though I went a long time applying my BB cream with nothing but my fingertips. Because of that, I have difficulty with most cream based products, whether it is eyeshadow, highlighter or blush. Even if it’s a great formula, I won’t reach for it because it doesn’t fit into my make up routine so my friends made sure that this was a product that could be used with a brush!
This is the Peach my Cheeks Melting Powder Blush, which has a cream to powder formula that actually applies best with a brush (surprising since it is technically a cream blusher). The fact that I reach for this blush over many others so often proves this point – because I wouldn’t use it otherwise. It has easily become one of my favourite products in this collection and my only disappointment is that there isn’t a bigger shade range. According to the Mecca website, this comes in six shades (of which I have one so far) and there is also a similar highlighter and bronzer shade.
Aside from the Peach and Sweet Fig Cream scent, the Peaches & Cream collection is all about matte formulas – matte shadows, foundations and blushes. Naturally, all of the shades are inspired by peaches, and “these products offer a skin-loving matte finish with a few shimmering (non-matte) products to add glamorous dimension for day to night perfection.”
According to the Too Faced website, this “creamy, buttery textured blush instantly transforms into a lightweight powder once applied. Buildable, blendable formula leaves cheeks looking and smelling like dreamy peaches and cream.” Although it is primarily a blush, the website also claims that this can be used on the lips. Since it has a more powdery finish though, I have only used it as a blush.
There are the main points from the product page:
- Creamy, buttery texture
- Can be used on face and lips
- Buildable finish for soft, blendable color
- Radiant matte finish
- Soft glow compliments matte skin
- Smells like Peaches & Cream
The blush comes housed in a really cute matte-finish pink box – with a pink graphic design and gold foil detailing. This is consistent with the rest of the collection and, as usual with Too Faced, they’re doing really good with it. Sometimes, I find that their designs a over the top (such as with the puffy unicorn design they came out with before) but this one is a good balance between quality and cuteness.
Opening up the unit carton, the blush is cased in a peach shaped compact which is really cute but, to be honest, is a little inconvenient. The compact is thick with rounded edges, so it is a bit more difficult to store as well. It is also a bit tricky to open with its magnetic closure and awkward opening point – I’m often worried that I’ll damage it when I go to open it up too.
Overall, the aesthetic of the packaging design is more cute than it is functional. I would have preferred something simpler – like with their Sweetie Pie Bronzer – but I can see why they needed the rounded form (the blush has a dome shape so the case needs to allow for this).
For this blush, I have the shade Ginger Peach, which is like an coral-peach shade. As I previously mentioned, this blush comes in six shades and there are also two others in a similar formula (a bronzer and a highlighter). Here is the list of shades:
- Pinch my Peach: Antique peach
- Spiced Peach: Spiced mauve
- Peach Dream: Ballet Slipper Peach
- Ginger Peach: Coral-Peach
- Peach Berry: Toasted Berry
- So Peachy: Peachy Pink
I would love to see them either expand this range or use the same formula for more blushes in the future, as I do love the cream to powder finish of this, but feel like they need more shades. Out of these six, I may look into getting Spiced Peach and So Peachy – the darker shades are pretty too but wouldn’t suit my skin tone unless they were somehow really sheer and buildable.
Application & Personal Experiences
This blush definitely applies really well with a brush – it picks up evenly and also applies in a light and buildable manner. I feel like these lighter shades would be really adaptable for different skin tones. This specific shade (Ginger Peach) is really flattering on my skin tone too; it is a warm peachy shade with a hint of orange, that gives the complexion an almost sunkissed look.
Unlike a lot of other cream formulas, this product also blends in naturally without picking up any of the base foundation. It has a very powdery finish so, while it has the intensity and smoothness of a cream, the effect of it is like a standard pressed powder blush – which I personally love as I find most cream blushes would affect the rest of my foundation and wear off. It also applies well on both a powdered and unpowdered face.
The longevity of this blush is decent too. I find that it will wear as long as your foundation does, with no fading or caking.
That being said, the only real downside I find to this whole collection is the scent. Some people absolutely love it but, personally, I hate the scent – though it isn’t as strong with this blush as it is in the foundation. Everything is ‘infused’ with peach and sweet fig milk – giving it a very uniquely sweet scent. A lot of people love it but I prefer the scent of the Sweet Peach collection. This really comes down to personal preference and the scent does fade once it is applied, but I would recommend checking the product out in store first.
So, here’s the verdict!

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
This is certainly a highly rated product from me and I absolutely love it. I reach for it so much that there is just no doubt really, and I will definitely be recommending this to people who like the smoothness of cream formulas but find them difficult to use – especially if you like matte finishes.
The weaknesses of the product is definitely in the lack of shade range and the packaging, so I hope that they improve on that soon. The price is also relatively expensive but, to be honest, to be expected from a high end make up brand.
