I believe strongly in wearing SPF and will almost never go without it. However, because I have had allergic reactions to sunscreens in the past (which resulted in a not-so-fun afternoon at the Gold Coast wanting to scratch my thigh off) I am usually quite cautious with the types of products that I use. Adding in that I will hardly ever go without base make up, I also need skincare products that don’t interfere with the longevity of my foundation.
However, when I found out from Wishtrend that Dear Klairs was launching a new sunscreen, I wanted to give it a try! Partly because I needed to find an option that was more easily accessible (my go-to sunscreen is a Japanese Biore one that I can only get if someone I know or I go to Japan) and also because I have used their products before with great experiences.
Their products are generally also very well targeted for sensitive skin so, while I don’t usually have sensitive skin, this may be good for my (sometimes) SPF allergies. In addition to a product that doesn’t break me out, I am also looking for something lightweight that absorbs well into the skin and doesn’t cause foundation to apply patchy or break up. In general, I found that this sunscreen ticked all of those boxes and may be my new, more accessible alternative.

Excited? I’m excited because while other people (mostly in the US) have been lucky enough to get their hands on the new Urban Decay collection already, us Australians have been waiting eagerly for this release. Following the news that they were discontinuing the original (and game changing) Naked palette, photos of this new palette started to make the rounds online before being officially announced.
This is the new Urban Decay Naked Cherry Collection and this will be launched at Mecca Maxima on 16th October! I’ve already got my eyes on the eyeshadow palette and, looking at all of these product photos, I’m super keen on the liner and lipsticks too!
So, read on for more photos and product information – and get your PayPal ready!
Talk about the new Jeffree Star Velour Lip Liners (and the new Supreme Frosts) had been buzzing around for quite a while and just a few days ago, he made the official announcement of the launch! These products are an exciting new addition to his range and will be launching tonight – yes, the announcement and the release was insanely close, as is usual.
I haven’t managed to get my hands on them yet (just not important enough for PR /sob sob) but I did get a bunch of promotion photos and also real life product shots from Black Swallow to share! For those who don’t know, Black Swallow is an Australian, Sydney based online store that stocks a lot of different beauty brands, in particular those like Jeffree Star Cosmetics or Juvias Place, which is generally harder to access here.
If you’re keen to shop this collection, head over to the Black Swallow website tonight to put in your orders – the lip liners are in-stock and ready to ship, while the Supreme Frosts are a pre-order item.
This product was provided to me by Neogen for my honest review. Affiliate links are not used in this post.
When I look into products for my skincare routine, I will generally be focusing on hydration and brightening properties – since they are my main skin concerns. I first came across this Real Ferment Micro Serum from Neogen on Instagram, and I was first interested because the packaging looked really sleek and compact. So, I was pretty excited when it showed up at my place in a PR package and I put it to the test that very evening.
From when I first started to use this, I saw immediate results and I’ve been using it once or twice a day since then (except for a few days break when I was having skin allergies from hayfever). This product feels great on my skin and gives me an instant boost of hydration, as well as helping to brighten and (gradually) diminish my acne scarring. The effects that I’ve seen from incorporating this into my skincare routine have been really good, so I’m keen to share this.
This product is selling on either the official Neogen website or their international stockist Sokoglam for USD$38 – on the pricier side, but worth it for the the effectiveness; especially considering that there are many more expensive products.
I’m a big fan of the StilaGlitter & Glow Eyeshadows – they are a liquid eyeshadow that delivered an incredible punch of glitter, with minimal to no fall out. They’re really easy to use and apply, which is a new experience for me as I generally don’t like liquid eyeshadows. That, in combination with my love for bright colours, had me really excited that Mecca is finally launching the Stila Vivid & Vibrant collection – which includes the new jewel toned Shimmer & Glows! In addition, this collection also includes the eyeshadow duos – which truthfully have mixed reviews, but I like their products enough to go and try it out for myself.
These products launched at Mecca at the beginning of this month, so this post is only a little late but I wanted to share some of the information on these, as well as discussing why I want/don’t want to pick these up.
These products were sent to me for review by Esqido. I was not paid for this post and no affiliate links are used.
I used to use gel liners almost exclusively, but it’s in the past couple of years that I had completely switched over to liquid pen liners – which I preferred for getting very crisp black lines. It has actually been quite a while since I used a gel so, when I received these Gel Eyeliner Pencils from Esqido, I knew that there would be a bit of a learning curve for me. Still, I think that there will always be a place in my collection for gel liners as they can give you that deep, smokey look that is hard to achieve with liquids.
These are a new addition to Esqido’s offerings which, in the past, has been focused on their false lashes and companion glue. Bringing out these liners feels so natural though, because they’re perfect for the waterline for smoking out the lash, so this development didn’t surprise me at all!
I was sent these to review in both colours – black and brown – and they claim to be super budge proof and also waterproof; which I tested out very easily with my watery eyes. So, read on for my review because these have definitely impressed me and I think that I will be using these Gel Eyeliners more in the future.
Out of all make up products, I am really difficult when it comes to foundations. It hasn’t always been this case though. Back when I first started to wear make up, I was happy to put on anything that gave me heaps of coverage (even when I didn’t need it) and I paid little mind to how my skin interacted with the product – whether it is later on in the day or even when I remove it. Since then, I have tried enough that I’m fairly picky with my foundation products and I’m very aware of the type of formula that I like. The only issue then is which foundation would suit me?
That fact is that I, and a lot of other people, can rattle off a list of what we want our perfect foundation to be (medium cover, semi-matte etc) but with the massive plethora of products that are on the market now, it’s difficult to go through everything and figure out what suits our needs. And this is where this new foundation matching tool comes in!
I got the email about this launch this morning and I admittedly waited until the night to get onto it. I thought that this would be yet another colour matcher (which MECCA already has) but I was pleasantly surprised that this is matching you to your ideal formula instead! This is the MECCA Foundation Match and I’m going to go briefly through this quick process on how to find the foundations to suit you.
This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.
KLAVUU is one of those brands that I’ve been curious about (I was actually first introduced to them at the BONIIK event) but I haven’t tried anything from, mostly because their products can run a bit expensive (in relation to other Korean skincare). However, I’ve heard really good things about their brand especially in the areas of complexion brightening – which people will know is one of my main skin concerns. So when I saw on instagram that StyleKorean was recruiting people for a KLAVUU try me; review me – I applied right away!
Sometimes, I feel like I came into the make up game way late because there are brands like Too Faced that feel so new to me, and yet I find out that they’ve been around for twenty years already! For those who don’t know, the brand launched in 1998 so this is their twenty year anniversary. To celebrate it, they have launched a 20th birthday collection – which is excitingly coming to Mecca from tomorrow! In addition to it, they are also bringing out a new Born This Way Concealer, which has been really hyped up online.
The full 20th birthday collection consists of eight Metallic Sparkle Lipsticks, a special repackaging of the Better than Birthday Sex mascara, and their Then and Now Eyeshadow Palette – the latter which has been teased online for quite a while and I’m excited to finally see it! Rather than cover the entire collection, since I’m sure you’re going to click onto the Mecca website anyway, I want to give you guys a look into the two products that I’m most excited about!
UPDATE: This product is now available at Black Swallow – AUD$35 each, or also available in popular bundles of four or eight!
This is so exciting! A lot of people have been really keen on this product and can you believe that it will be launching this weekend? Jeffree Star did his official announcement of the new range a few days ago and I’ve gotten my hands on the official imagery to share with you all – special thank you to Black Swallow, who is one of their official Australian stockists, for giving me access to these images.
So what am I talking about? These are the new Jeffree Star Liquid Frosts! They are, as you can tell by the name, a liquid version of his popular highlighter range. It comes in eight shades to begin with, ranging from an icy white highlight for those very fair people and some beautiful golden bronze tones for people with darker skin – or who want to sheer this out as a bronze body shimmer! I love that the shade range looks so inclusive, though I do wish that they showed the product on some Asian skin tones too.
According to Jeffree, this is “a metallic and glitter orgy”, and “once it dries, there is no tacky or sticky feeling.” This was a very common criticism about the body shimmer that Fenty Beauty recently launched (limited edition, of course) so I feel like Jeffree was very inspired by that product but further developed it to suit his own preferences and his audience base. This product can be used alone as a liquid highlight, or mixed in with a body lotion for an overall shimmering effect. He states that “every shade has a different reflects [sic] glitter undertone that shines through for added dimension where ever it’s applied.”
