New Release: AKOCO and their Flawless Sets

Akoco Kbeauty Flawless Set Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

The kbeauty industry is massive and it seems like every day that a new innovation in skincare is being launched, so it can be really hard to keep up. The great thing is that there are experts out there and they have put their time and effort into curating only the best of the best for you. The relatively new online store AKOCO has just launched with their boxed sets and – seriously – they are so well done. At this point in time, they have also released a number of different sets to target different skin concerns but the original is the Flawless Set.

To celebrate their launch, they sent me their Flawless Set and you would have seen me posting about this on Instagram – I just love the products that they’ve included in here. I only just noticed that I hadn’t written up an unboxing though (and this post is a good three months late for which I am so sorry). I was originally holding out to try everything first but realised that that’s going to take much too long so I’ll be sharing with you this anyway!

Although the Flawless Set is now out of stock, they do have their new Flawless Flaw-less set in stock (which targets acne prone skin) or, of course, you can always shop their products individually.

So – let’s get into it!

Review: Chill! (Synth Labs Intl)

Synth Labs Intl Chill Mask

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

What’s the most interesting and unique mask that you’ve used lately? Sheet masks are all the rage and even rubber modelling masks are pretty common now, but I got the opportunity to try out Chill! from Synth Labs Intl recently and this may be the most unique mask that I’ve tried out in a long time.

For those who are new to the brand, Synth Labs Intl is an Australian brand that was founded just this year. They consider themselves ‘neo-beauty’ and aim to combine both natural and synthetic – which you can definitely tell by their almost alien-like CGI brand imagery. They currently have one product, Chill!, which is both a serum and mask depending on how you choose to use it.

If you’d like to pick this up, it’s selling on the Synth Labs Intl website for AUD$128 (or you can make four AfterPay payments of AUD$32). At the moment, this product is available exclusively in Australia but sign up for their mailing list for updates on when it becomes available in other countries.

And, let’s get into this review!

Review: Pro Eye Palette – Simply Pink (CLIO)

CLIO Pro Eye Palette Simply Pink Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I feel like some really pretty eyeshadow palettes have been coming out of the kbeauty industry lately and that makes me so excited. Palettes are my weakness but I generally don’t use many Korean formulas because I find that many brands just aren’t pigmented or adventurous enough for my personal preferences. The recent trends are definitely leaning towards more colour and self expression though, perhaps even inspired by some of the Western beauty trends too – and I love it.

Maybe a month or so ago, I found a range of eyeshadow palettes that really caught my attention – the new Pro Eye Palette from CLIO. It seems to be a kbeauty dupe of the Huda Beauty Nude Palette, but actually comes in three colour stories – Simply Pink (which is the one I’ll be reviewing), Coral Talk and Brown Choux. CLIO is a brand famous for creating high coverage and long lasting make up products that are both artist quality and road shop priced. I’ve been a fan of their brand since I got my first liquid eyeliner from them and still use their stuff all the time.

After waiting a while for this to show up on my favourite kbeauty sites (previously, I had only seen it on the official Korean instagram), I found out that all three were being stocked at StyleKorean. I had a hard time choosing but I ended up getting the Simply Pink palette to test out, since this colour scheme seemed to fit my personal style best.

It is currently selling on StyleKorean for USD$35.20 so pop onto their website if you want to grab one (or three). But before you do that, let’s get into this review!

New Release: Glow Tonic Collection (Pixi Beauty)

Pixi Glow Tonic Beauty Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

Is there anyone out there who hasn’t heard of Pixi Beauty? They are a brand started by make up artist and product developer Petra Strand and was launched over 20 years ago – so they know what they’re doing! They aim to create “innovative formulations that are infused with botanicals and beneficial ingredients,” as well as products that are multitasking and effective for people who are on-the-go and live a busy lifestyle.

They focus primarily on skincare (though do have some brilliant make up products too) and are especially known for formulations that create a beautiful, glowing radiance to skin – most famously their Glow Tonic! Recently they developed a full collection of products inspired by this favourite product, and I was ridiculously excited and lucky to get this whole range to share for you guys!

So, read on for more!

Review: Perfect Pimple Patch (Subi Beauty)

Subi Perfect Pimple Patch Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

It’s just my luck that the moment I’m getting ready to review pimple patches, my skin is actually flawless (for once in my life). For this reason, this is super delayed but I really wanted to try these out properly and give you a real review rather than just an overview of the product. This is the Perfect Pimple Patch from Subi Beauty, a hydrocolloid patch to help drain and heal break outs.

If you’re unfamiliar with Subi Beauty, that’s because they’re new! They call themselves “half Aussie, half Korean” – Australian owned but born in Korea. They aim to merge Korean skincare innovations with Australian minimalism to create simple and effective skincare.

Since they are a new brand, they currently only carry the Perfect Pimple Patch, but I have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more from them soon! These are available for purchase on their website for USD$29.95 for a set of 3 packs (that’s 54 patches in total), along with free shipping on all orders.

Check them out here and let’s also get into this review!

Review: Filter Shot (16 Brand)

16 Brand Filter Shot Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

My contour is the second most important step of my make up routine and I’m always on the look out for new products. The Filter Shot contour pact from 16 Brand is one that originally caught my eye on Instagram, but it took a little while until I found out it was available on StyleKorean’s website! I did go back and forth about this for a while, because I didn’t have a good experience with the Eye Magazine (their one swipe eye shadow product). A lot of these type of things don’t work for me because my face shape is a bit different to the ‘average’ Asian face – which is the target audience – but I figured that I had to give this a shot anyway!

So the Filter Shot is a one swipe contour pact. It comes in two shades but, essentially, one is for nose contour and one is for face contour – so it’s really just the one shade. I have the Contour Peach shade, which is for the nose. This, and the Shading Almond colour, are currently selling on StyleKorean for USD$17.60 – which isn’t too bad actually!

Check out their website if you want to grab it but, otherwise, let’s jump into this review.

Review: Real Vita C Serum & Powder Lemon (Neogen)

Neogen Real Vita C Powder Lemon and Serum Kbeauty Review Neogen

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

If you’re a lover of Vitamin C (like me) then this new collection from Neogen is definitely going to spark your fancy. I received this from them as PR and, I have to say, I have been waiting really eagerly for new skincare from their brand – I always have amazing experiences with Neogen and if anyone was going to be a nice Vitamin C serum, I knew they would.

I have been very concerned with pigmentation and unevenness of my skin lately so I have been testing this product out with dedication! Although I don’t think it had lightened up my pigmentation overall (so far, nothing has been successful) it has done my skin well overall!

I’ll be telling you more about my personal experiences in this review. From Neogen, I will be talking about their Real Vita C Serum and always their Real Vita C Powder Lemon (which might be the most unique and genius skincare product I have seen all year!)

Let’s get into it!

New Release: Crystal Aura Collection (Revlon)

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

Sweetheart. Sweetheart.

I am a sucker for limited edition releases, mostly because I love special packaging, and Revlon has really brought it this time! The Crystal Aura Collection launched in Australia a few weeks ago and, honestly, everyone who has seen these have thought that it was from a mid-high end brand (most definitely not drugstore). The design of it is so different from their usual and, in the grand scheme of drugstore cosmetics, has definitely gone the extra mile.

I was super lucky to actually receive most of this collection to test and review before the launch and I have been in love. I actually haven’t used much from Revlon before, since I don’t use a lot of drugstore make up in general, but I am definitely impressed enough that I want to be checking out some of their permanent range too. For this post, I’ll be chatting about their Crystal Lipstick, Glow Lip Oil, Lip Glow Gelee, Liquid Gleam Potion, Glow Gelée™, Putty Powder Eye Beam and the Liquid Alloy Eye Shadow. They also have a ColorStay Crystalized Eyeliner but I haven’t tried that one so check it out on the website instead.

This entire range is currently available at Priceline and Big W in Australia or, if you’re international, I would recommend checking out the official Revlon website for your local stockist.

So – this is a pretty big collection. Let’s get into it!

Review: AHA Honey & Propolis Peeling Liquid (Commleaf)

Style Story Kbeauty Review Commleaf AHA Honey & Propolis Peeling Liquid

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid and affiliate links are not used in this post.

I’ve been testing another Commleaf product and this time it’s their AHA Honey & Propolis Peeling Liquid, a chemical exfoliant that claims to dissolve dead skin cells and also improve the efficacy of your skincare. I left this one to last to test out because I do tend to use a lot of actives in my skincare and I wanted to make sure that the rest of my routine as fairly simple when I used this.

In general, my skin condition has been pretty good lately – all of those break outs I had before have died down (even during my time of the month), there’s a nice hydrated brightness to my complexion and it’s also been feeling pretty strong!

This is probably a good thing too because I was a genius and went into trying out this Peeling Liquid before reading the instructions… so instead of getting my skin used to the product by using it twice a week, I jumped head first into using it every night! Thankfully, my overall results have been pretty good.

I received this to review from StyleStory so jump onto their website if you want to grab a bottle too, or check out any of their Commleaf offerings – the AHA Honey & Propolis Peeling Liquid is currently selling for AUD$29.95 on their website with free shipping in Australia on all orders over AUD$80.

So, without any more rambling, let’s get into it!

Review: Aladdin Collection (MAC Cosmetics)

MAC Cosmetics Australia Aladdin Collaboration Beauty Review

MAC Cosmetics has a talent for consistently killing me with every limited edition release – and their recent collaboration with Disney for the new Aladdin movie is no different! This post is actually a bit late because I’ve been so busy lately and not had time to write as often, but that’s given me the chance to really test out these products and gather my thoughts about it.

For this release, I was really lucky to have been invited to the pre-release event (which is why you would have seen me talk about these before they actually launched in Australia) – aside from testing out and playing with the products, we also got to watch a demonstration from their make up artist, which has really given me some good insight into the vision for this Aladdin collection.

This is a limited edition collection that was released one week ahead of the Aladdin movie (which came to cinemas May 23 and is so good, by the way). This collection is centred around Princess Jasmine and “features smoky metallic and desert shades that reflect Jasmine’s strong-willed beauty,” as well as some beautiful Agrabah inspired packaging.

Mac Cosmetics gifted me with the eyeshadow palette and one of the lip glasses to try out – which is actually good because it’s been a long time since I used a pressed shadow from their brand, and I have never used their lip glasses before either. Trying them out was definitely a whole new world for me (haha – okay, I’ll stop).

Now, let’s get into this review!
