Review: Hydrogel Very Simple Pack (Cosrx)

COSRX Hydrogel Very Simple Pack BB Cosmetics Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that there is an affiliate code advertised. The small profits go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I personally love hydrogel masks but the problem is that they tend to be a lot more expensive than a standard sheet mask so I can only save them for special occasions. However, when I came across this product I knew that COSRX has found that gap in our market and found a perfect way to fill it – this is the Hydrogel Very Simple Pack. It comes in a tub of 60, which makes it a much more affordable option in comparison to individual masks.

COSRX is a very popular kbeauty brand, though I find that most of their hype is within the actual beauty community (they don’t have any stand alone stores in Korea but rather sell inside of Watsons – the drug store). They are very well known for their acne care products, in particular their acne pads, patches and pore clearing toner. I have used a handful of their products in the past and enjoyed them but hadn’t been fully blown away yet. However, this is fast becoming a recent favourite of mine!

I also believe that this was developed in collaboration with kbeauty blogger Hanbyul but there isn’t too much information about this (I used to be an avid watcher of her videos but not so much anymore, so I’m not up to date).

I recieved this from BB Cosmetic to review and this tub is selling for USD$17.65 (discounted from USD$26) – and they also offer free shipping worldwide with no minimum purchase. Check out their website if you’re keen to get this. You can also use my affiliate code for 5% off: QAL3F6ZA8YZ

So, let’s get into this review!

Review: Ink Velvet Mini Mini Lipstick (Peripera)

Peripera Ink Velvet Mini Mini Lipstick Set Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I love trying out new lip products but, truth be told, I don’t think I have ever finished a lipstick in my life – they’ve gone bad, or been accidentally smushed and ruined, but never actually finished. I’ve always felt like I needed to buy a full size of every product but have since realised what a waste it is. I now much prefer to use mini sizes for lipsticks; they’re better to put in your bag anyway and I still get a lot of use out of them.

In addition, they’re also a brilliant gift idea because they’re easy to create sets with while still being relatively affordable, so you’ll be sure that there’s shades to suit them.

It’s really a perfect idea that Peripera released this set of mini Ink Velvet Lipsticks for the 2018 holiday season and – even though I’m a little bit late with this – it’s okay! This is the Mini Mini Ink Velvet Stick Set which contains a set of five mini lipsticks in varying shades from neutral corals to a brighter, warm red. I tested these out most days since I received them and have also experimented with carrying them around so I’m pretty prepared for this review!

If you want to get your hands on these, they are available on the StyleKorean website for USD$33.60 (full price is USD$42). Otherwise, let’s get on with the review!

Review: True Wear Foundation (Hera)

Hera True Wear Foundation Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I was checking out the StyleKorean website when I came across the HERA True Wear Foundation, which interested me because it’s a pump foundation – most base cosmetics that I’ve come across in Korea have been either cushions or BB creams, but that seems to be changing with the trends now. This will be only the second product that I’ve tried from the brand, the first being their cushion (which I was underwhelmed by).

Since then, I haven’t really touched anything else from their brand but, considering that I’ve been loving foundations lately, this seemed like a good product to test out!

I usually wear a shade 21 but, as that was unfortunately unavailable on the StyleKorean website, I’m trying a shade 23 for this review (which is, as expected, a bit too dark for me). This foundation is also temporarily out of stock but I’m sure that it will come back in soon, so I’ll continue to link to the True Wear Foundation product page.

So, let’s get into this review! I’ll also put a swatch at the end of this post but, since this isn’t really my colour match, please don’t judge the shade.

Review: LO-FI Lip Mousse (Urban Decay)

Urban Decay Lo Fi Lip Mousse Mecca Review

This product was sent to me by Mecca Maxima for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

There are very few lip products now that are really innovative – lipsticks and lip glosses are reformulated and improved all the time, of course, but they generally will keep the same sort of format. There was a product that launched last year and caused a bit of a stir, mostly because it was so unlike everything else in the market that people didn’t really know what to expect.

This is the Urban Decay Lo-Fi Lip Mousse, which (I believe) was released around September last year. It is an entirely new formula for the brand and is currently available in eight shades; the range isn’t massive but, since it’s new, I assume that they were testing the waters.

Some people really liked this, while others were on the fence, so I think it really comes down to personal preference. It is less about the formula, which is generally well liked, but rather the format of delivery in a pan compact. I think that it will really come down to how you prefer to apply your lips but I’ll get more into that later.

The entire range of the Lo-Fi Lip Mousse is now available at Mecca Maxima for AUD$37 each – which means it also qualifies for free shipping! If you’re outside of Australia/New Zealand, then check out the Urban Decay website for stockist information. So, let’s get into the review!

Review: Vita Duo Cream (Neogen)

Neogen Vita Duo Cream

This product was sent to me by Neogen for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that some affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

There are only a handful of kbeauty youtubers that I watch now but I have actually watched a couple of videos from Joan Kim (@JoanKeem) in the past – She is actually the one who introduced me to the Neogen brand! It seems so appropriate that she is now collaborating with them.

This is the Neogen Vita Duo Cream, which she also helped to develop and design (packaging wise). Since I’m not a massive fan of hers, my review of this product is purely based on the formula and it’s role in my skincare routine – and I genuinely love this product! I love the concept of the dual cream, which makes it perfect for travel, and the formulation of it also works really nicely with my skin type. This is a product designed to give your complexion the necessary hydration throughout the day, as well as to provide brightening and soothing benefits (depending on which you use).

This product is currently available on NudieGlow for AUD$52 (down from AUD$55) or on StyleKorean for USD$32 – so you can see which store works best with your home currency. Alternatively, you can shop it directly from Neogen’s Amazon store.

I’ve been testing this out twice a day since I got it, and it’s safe to say that I’m very confident with this write up now. So, let’s get right into this review.

Review: Backtalk Palette (Urban Decay)

Urban Decay Backtalk Palette Mecca Review

This product was gifted to me by Mecca Maxima. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used.

2018 was definitely the year of eyeshadow palettes because there were so many great releases – and I also bought way more than an average person really needs. Amongst them, there were also a handful of products that I was graciously gifted by Mecca Maxima – just to try out really. Although this following palette was not right at the top of my ‘best palettes’ list (which I should write soon), it was a close runner up!

This is the Urban Decay Backtalk Palette, a travel friendly palette inspired by the popularity of the Backtalk shade from their Vice Lipsticks range (described as a mauve-nude pink). It includes a series of eyeshadow shades, all in berry and rose-mauve shades and also four cheek shades (two blushers and two highlighters) on the other side. This is actually very different to what Urban Decay has done in the past and, although I was initially unsure about the packaging design, I’ve come to really love this.

The Backtalk Palette was released as a limited-edition product to Mecca Maxima and, as such, it’s no longer available. However, it is a permanent product in the Urban Decay collection and is still available on their website – so I have my tail crossed that it will come back! Otherwise, feel free to check out the rest of the Urban Decay products available (I would especially recommend their Born to Run palette which is one of my top picks of the year).

So, let’s get into this review!

Review: Get Lit Illuminating Palette (Mecca Max)

Mecca Max Get Lit Illuminating Highlighter Palette Mecca Maxima Holiday 2018 Limited Edition Review

This product was gifted to me at a public event. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

I’m worried that this palette will be completely out of stock after Christmas, as well as a handful other products, so I feel like I need to be throwing these at you guys so that you still have time to shop! I’m not too fussed if it’s a product that I don’t like, since I don’t need to be recommending it anyway, but for those that I do, I really want to make sure that I feature them.

One palette that I have been totally loving for this Holiday season is the Mecca Max Get Lit Illuminating Palette, which is sold exclusively at Mecca Maxima (sorry guys – this will be an Australia and New Zealand product only). I received this as a pre-launch gift from an event that I went to – a public event, not a PR one – so I didn’t know much about it at first. However, since I’ve been using it, I have loved this more and more!

This product sells for AUD$30 and contains four powder and two cream highlighters. It is currently unavailable online so you’ll need to check your local stores (which you can do via the website) to see if they have it in! It’s got a great price point and incredible high end quality so this comes highly recommended by me.

Let’s get into this review!

Diary: The Perfect Lipstick (MAC Cosmetics)

MAC Cosmetics Lipstick Review Event

This product and shade matching experience was offered to me as part of MAC Cosmetics’s Lipstick campaign. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

MAC Cosmetics is so well known for their lipstick formulas that – to be honest – I don’t think there are any beauty junkies out there that haven’t tried them at least once; or if there are, there’s very few. When I was younger and just starting to experiment with make up, mostly using it for singing performances, MAC Cosmetics was a brand that I really idolised. I loved the colours and their professional, ‘cool girl’ image.

So, I’m pretty over the moon about the fact that they’ve given me the opportunity to work with them again. This will be my second time already, with the first being their Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Campaign, and this is actually even more perfect for me. I got my first high end lipstick to MAC Cosmetics (#Dubonnet) and, after all these years, I still have that same sense of excitement when I explore their massive range. I’ve since found a bunch of shades that I love from their range and also retired some old favourites of mine (why did I ever wear a bright pink lipstick?), but the one thing that I haven’t found yet is my perfect nude lipstick.

I never actually wear nude lipsticks (only somewhat neutral shades) because I haven’t been able to find anything that doesn’t fully wash me out. But, when it comes to MAC, there is legit something for everyone, so it’s impossible to be disappointed.

So, let’s get into some photos of the Paddington MAC Pro Store store, which is where I went to find my perfect lipstick shade, as well as some things that I’ve learnt about their range and offerings.

Review: Big Pang Pang Dot Cushion vs Blanc Pact (Elroel)

Elroel Blanc Pact and Dot Cushion Kbeauty Review StyleKorean

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

It’s the battle of the massive cushions! I was introduced to these cushions from Elroel by StyleKorean and, honestly, I was so fascinated by the sheer size of them that I really wanted to feature them on my blog. I haven’t been using cushions a lot lately because I have been wearing Western foundations, but I actually always carry one (or two) of these in my bag to touch up with during the day. For the sake of review though, I did change up my make up routine!

Today, I want to review and compare to vastly different products from the Elroel line – their Big Pang Pang Dot Cushion, which is more like a standard sponge type cushion, and also their Blanc Pact, which is like a solid cream compact type product. Both of these are foundation/base make up type products (the latter is not a sun pact) and are selling for USD$33 on the StyleKorean website. They also have Mini Cushions if you aren’t about that oversized life.

So, let’s go right into the review and let these two battle it out.

New Release: Very Vegan Collection (W7 Cosmetics) – Via Chemist Warehouse

W7 Very Vegan Chemist Warehouse Review

These products were sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

Have you guys heard of the W7 Cosmetics brand before? I’ve actually come across them a few times in the past (mainly while I was on my way to buy hayfever medication) but have never actually stopped to check them out. They’re a drugstore brand from the UK and, in Australia, the brand is primarily stocked at Chemist Warehouse – which is our discount pharmacy. Alongside W7 Cosmetics they also carry a lot of other mainstream drugstore cosmetic brands too.

I was recently approached to try out their new Very Vegan collection, which has recently launched to an Australian audience, and even though I’ve never tried them out before – I figured, why not? Although I don’t personally follow a vegan lifestyle, I know that many people do and it can be very difficult to find suitable alternatives for simple products – and for those people, this line would be perfect!

I was sent over a massive assortment of products, almost every single time from their line, and while some products work better for me than others – there are some definite gems in this pile. So, let’s get right into this!
