Review: Microfit Cushion (Moonshot)

Stylekorean Review Moonshot Microfit Cushion

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

When I first stepped into the Moonshot store over in Apgujeong, I felt like I had stepped into my wildest dreams. The brand is a sub-brand of YG Entertainment and, similar to their other fashion label and the overall style of the company, they’re all about bold colours, versatility and being trend forward. In a beauty industry that that sometimes be all about blending in and being ‘pretty’, this sort of thinking is really welcome and I always love brands like this!

In the past, I’ve tried out their jelly pots (which are a multi-purpose product that I love) and their lipsticks (which are also super uniquely packaged and well formulated). The other product that I did try in store but hadn’t gotten my hands on yet was the Microfit Cushion, so when I found out that StyleKorean was stocking the brand, I had to try it! It’s been a hard time trying to get Moonshot products online without having to say something exorbitant, so it was really exciting when I saw the brand amongst the new line ups. Hopefully, their range expands and we get to see more and more of it online because Moonshot is one of the few ‘kpop’ created brands that I actually adore.

This product is currently selling in a pack (which includes the cushion and an extra refill) for USD$33.64 on StyleKorean, so pop over there to check it out and read on for my full review!

Review: Baby Glow Cushion (Love 3CE)

Stylekorean Review 3CE Love Baby Glow Cushion

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I had been debating getting my hands on this 3CE cushion ever since its launch and, as usual, it was because of the packaging rather than any knowledge I had about the product (although I have used cushions from the brand before and have generally had good experiences with all of their make up). This cushion, which is shaped like a sea shell, is part of the Love 3CE collection which is all about retro toys and the good old days. The collection includes this cushion, blushers, lipsticks and eyeshadows so there is a lot to look into but I thought that I would check out this obvious star first.

I received this product to review from StyleKorean where it is currently selling for USD$32.90 – the price is higher than a usual roadshop brand, but 3CE has always been a bit of a premium fashion brand, so it’s not that surprising. It is similar in price to a Clio cushion set but, unfortunately, this product doesn’t come with a refill. If it is good though, then I think that cushions and base make up in general is a good investment.

Read on for my full review discussing the positives and weaknesses of this product, and decide whether you think this is suitable for you! If you’re keen on this, or any other 3CE product, click onto StyleKorean to check out their range.

Product Launch: Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask (Klairs)

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask Review Wishtrend

This product was sent to me by Wishtrend for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I am so excited that I seriously don’t know how to begin this post. Recently, I was contacted by Wishtrend to test and review a new product that was launching from Klairs on September 22nd. Now, this isn’t just a product that was new in store – no, it is actually the first time that I have received a product to trial pre launch! I am so happy to be given this opportunity and, in return, I now endeavour to give the most detailed and helpful review that I can.

So this new product is a Vitamin E Mask from Klairs, which stand by their motto of Simple but enough. It is a sister product to their Vitamin Drop serum (which I haven’t had the chance to try yet – hint hint) and had hydrating and anti-aging effects, as well as a brightening effect when it is used in conjunction with Vitamin C products. It is a multifunctional product that can be used as a mask, a sleeping pack or a daily moisturiser – although I personally wouldn’t use it as the latter since I’m very conscious of what I put underneath my make up.

Brand Spotlight: Fenty Beauty

Fenty Beauty Sephora Review

Regardless of whether you’re a kbeauty fan or a western beauty lover, there is no doubt that Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty release is the launch of the year! There’s been so much talk about it all over Instagram and Youtube and, even though I thought that I would be avoiding this rush – I caved.

With how fast things were selling out, I headed to Sephora during my lunch break and got a couple of products that I’ve been especially in love with. There’s actually a few more things that I wanted to get but I wasn’t absolutely sold about them yet, so maybe I’ll pick them up later. For now, I have the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo and a Match Stix Matte Skinstick. Although it isn’t the full collection, I think that I have a good enough variety to give my thoughts on this brand – it’s strengths, weaknesses and why I am obsessed!

As I disclaimer, I had to admit that I do love Rihanna as a singer and a celebrity. I haven’t been following much of her recent work but she was one of my idols during high school and music college – I love her Good Girl Gone Bad – Rehab sort of era and it’s been years and I am still not over it. That being said, I judge make up products by the quality and not the celebrity behind it so below are my honest opinions on everything.

Are you ready? Let’s go!

Review: Sweety Charm Crystal Grey (Uniqso)

It took me nearly two months to write this review and, honestly, I am sincerely so sorry to the team at Uniqso that it took me so long to photograph and put down into words how much I love these colour lenses that they sent around to me. For those who have been following me on Instagram, you will know that I was pretty sick recently and had to slow down on a lot of my content and even social media – it’s taken me a long time to feel better and, even now, there are some days that I wake up feeling exhausted. After two weeks of being in bed all the time, another week or two of recovery and getting used to being in the world again, my skin then chose that opportune time to have a major break out from this Hemish product and so it was a struggle to get anything done!

That being said, I want to give a special thank you not only to Uniqso who generously let me choose a pair of lenses to review, but also didn’t chase me up at all during this time and have been so patient with me. In the following review, I’ll give you guys a peek at this pair of pretty grey lenses that I’ve been sporting lately!

That being said, please excuse the horrible state of my skin in these photos. I was still recovered from my break out and, since I told myself to stop over retouching my photos, I tried not to do too much to them.

Ready? Lets go!

Review: Refresh Water (Heimish)

StyleKorean Review Kbeauty skincare Heimish Refresh Water

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I honestly thought that Heimish could do no bad – not after how much I loved their eye shadow palette and lip products – but unfortunately this is a product that really disappointed me. This is the Refresh Water that I was gifted to test by StyleKorean  and, considering that this product had good reviews online and because the ingredients list is actually really clean (aside from alcohol and I have no sensitivity to that), I was really excited about this. According to StyleKorean :

This product clears all remaining dirt and old keratin from the skin, and boosts the effectiveness of other skin care products applied subsequently. The mild enzyme extracted from soybeans works with AHA and BHA for maximum skin exfoliation and moisturization. It contains more than 20 active natural ingredients that amazingly soothe and balance facial skin while providing it with moisture.

In a way, I figured that this product would be similar to a toner – ‘refreshing’ my skin and improving the effectiveness of other products. Unfortunately though, this product didn’t work for me at all! In fact, my skin had negative reactions to the product and I ended up with terrible skin and break outs for two weeks or so; so bad that I had to break out my Medicube concealer and cushion because I was worried about using normal make up.

I was so disappointed about this product, so I had to write this review. Read on for details, as well as suggestions on other products that – in my opinion – work a lot better.

Review: 24K Gold Snail Mask (Elizavecca)

Elizavecca Kbeauty Review Kangsi Pack EGF Retinol Cream Masks

I had this sheet mask waiting in my ‘to review’ pile and it had been in there for so long that I had almost forgotten about it. It seems like life gets so busy lately that sometimes we just need to take a step back and relax – which basically means we should all be masking. I’ve gotten some people interested in sheet masks (and kbeauty, which I never shut up about) and so two nights ago, my work colleagues ended up in a group chat sheet mask session. While everyone was making use of the masks that I’d shared around (you can see the pile on my Instagram), I took the opportunity to pick this one up!

This is a 24K Gold Snail Mask that I was sent a while ago from Elizavecca and, from what I can see on their website, is meant to be used as a daily mask pack to hydrate and refresh a tired complexion (which is great, since I am always tired), as well as having anti-wrinkle benefits.

The packaging and concept didn’t excite me much as it seemed to be a fairly standard product, but the ingredients were decent:

  • Snail slime filtered water 1000pm
  • 24K gold
  • Witch Hazel extract
  • Grapefruit extract

I’m keeping this short and brief, so just read on for the verdict!

Review: White Grape Fresh Foundation (Skinfood)

QDepot Review Kbeauty Skinfood White Grape Fresh Foundation

I have had people positively rave to me about Skinfood and, from my experience with their skincare products, they are really great at what they do. However, I have only properly tried one cosmetic product from them and swatched a bunch of things in-store and… well, it’s unfortunate that I feel cosmetics really aren’t in their forte. Regardless, I do like to keep giving brands second, third and fourth chances since new products and formulas are always being released – especially in an industry as fast-paced and competitive as Korean beauty. When Q-Depot contacted me recently to offer to send me another product to try out, I very promptly said yes and… well, I have mixed feelings about this.

This is the White Grape Fresh Foundation from Skinfood, and it contains green grape extract. Grapes are considered an ‘anti-aging’ fruit because they have a lot of anti-oxidants, vitamin C and green grapes specifically are said to help speed up cell renewal processes (source). I’m not completely sure of how many of these benefits you will get from this foundation, since there isn’t much information I can find online, but it’s nice to know! Skinfood is general is known to use a lot of natural, skin benefiting ingredients and they also make the Black Sugar Honey Mask which I reviewed for Q-Depot before and still love!

Check out their website and use the code SW10OFF for 10% off! This isn’t an affiliate code, just a general discount code I have. Otherwise, let’s go on with the review!

Brand Spotlight: Skin Editor

Skin Editor Kbeauty Skincare Review Lilac & Berries

It’s been a while since I first wrote about Skin Editor – you can find my previous post about them here – but with the launch of some new products and them being stocked with Australia online store Lilac & Berries, I just had to write about them again! This is going to be a brand spotlight post with some first impressions on the new products, which they so kindly sent over for me to try, as well as a recap on the rest of their line which they have also sent over again.

According to Lilac & Berries, “Skin Editor is founded by Morvanic – a company formed by qualified pharmacists. The company is specialized in treating skin post laser, peeling and clinical care. Their products have been distributed exclusively to hundreds of skin clinics in Korea in the last 10 years.

Skin Editor products are introduced to the market for everyday consumer, its products contain EGF, centella asiatica extracts and hydrating properties such as beta glucan.”

As mentioned, Lilac & Berries is Australian and they currently only ship to Australia and New Zealand. This is great for us locals because it means that we won’t have to deal with exorbitant shipping and exchange rates but, for those internationally who wish to purchase, you can buy it on Amazon from Skin Editor.

At the moment, two of Skin Editor‘s products are available for purchase on Lilac & Berries, though I am sure that more of them will be made available later on. Let’s move into the post now!

Review: Glow Oil Tint (Beyond x Alice in Wonderland)

Beyond x Alice in Wonderland Glow Oil Tint BB Cosmetic Review

This one is going to be a really short post, mostly because I don’t have much to say about this product – I just liked it and wanted to show it off! This is an oil tint that I received from BB Cosmetic quite a while ago to play around with and I’ve been keeping it around for when ever my lips feel a bit dry. This is actually the first product that I’ve tried from Beyond, which I have only heard of from my friend Sophia when we walked past a store in Seoul – they are not tested on animals which, although isn’t something I look into a lot, is still something that I think is great and fully support!

As you can very obviously see, this product was in collaboration with Disney and is Alice in Wonderland themed! I’m not sure what other products they released, but I’m always a fan of anything Disney (my favourite is Peter Pan, but lets get into that another time). From what I can see, BB Cosmetic doesn’t seem to carry anything from this brand anymore but, still, feel free to check out their website because they have a great range of products. Aside from free shipping, you can also get 8% off with my code – which is either at the end of this post or on my side.

Anyway, let’s dive right into the review!
