Review: Mood Recipe Blush (3CE)

3CE Mood Recipe Blush Rose Beige Kbeauty Review

When ever someone asks me to recommend a blush, 3CE is always where I turn to – especially their pressed powder blushes. I’ve used so many of them before (and have a thing for collecting their matte shadows) and they’ve almost never failed me – except for their red blush which wasn’t bad but wasn’t as perfect as the others. Either way, the simple fact is that I absolutely love their blushes and I’m always really confident in their formula.

When 3CE started teasing their new Mood On & On Collection, I was absolutely over the moon. Their original collection had some amazing products – including one of my favourite brown/bronze shimmer shadows – and the Red Recipe was a brilliant collection that bright some vibrancy back into the kbeauty scene. For their new Mood Recipe collection, they pulled things right back again and settled somewhere in between with soft, nude pinks and really wearable colours that fit really well into anyone’s make up routine. These colours are ‘reminiscent of a secret garden’ and ‘gentler and softer than ever’.

Whether you like nudes or bright colours, I think that there’s a place for these new tones and so I was super keen to get some things in Korea. I wanted their new eyeshadow palettes, but I feel like they’re pretty pricey, and so I got one of the blushes instead! This product has that same soft blendability I like, as well as a more elegant colour range – which is totally new to my collection.

Review: Blush Cushion (3CE)

3CE cushion blusher stylekorean kbeauty review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I saw these cushion blushes in 3CE in Myeongdong and I nearly bought them – only, I quickly remembered that StyleKorean had actually mailed these to me for review! This silly beauty addict nearly bought doubles… but then again, who is surprised? (especially since I already did that with another product). These are the Blush Cushion compacts that I’ve been eying since their release. I have a few blush cushions at home but, to be honest, I don’t use them very often. I often find that they’re too sheer on my skin tone and difficult to build.

However, these had me pleasantly surprised! These are selling on StyleKorean for USD$17.48 – a pretty good price – but they only have limited stock and colours so get in quick. It’s been a while since these cushions were released, so I imagine that they are saving inventory for more recent releases too (which I will be sure to check out).

So, let’s get right into the review. Click on to read my thoughts and experiences with this product.

Review: Universe Multi Palette (Etude House)

Etude House My Universe Holiday Collection Kbeauty Review

I don’t review Etude House products very often on my blog, mostly because I find their brand a bit of a hit-or-miss. Some things work really well for me and others leave me rather disappointed. One thing that I have to say though, is that they’re really great at the packaging game and so all of their limited edition collections and special releases are something to anticipate. I was really excited when I went into a store in Seoul and, not only did I get to check out the collection, but they were also having a sale where the whole Universe Holiday Collection was on sale! Of course, I wanted to grab everything but, in lieu of going totally crazy, I got one of the palettes (which I was already eying) and two of the lipsticks (which I’ll talk about at a later date).

The following is called the Multi Palette and contains six shadows (both matte and glitters) and a highlighter. It comes in two different collections – Pinky Galaxy (cool toned) and Golden Galaxy (warm toned). As most people are aware, I usually gravitate heavily towards the more cool toned palettes and I did check it out first, but I ended up getting Golden Galaxy instead because the colours seemed to swatch more pigmented and creamy.

From my previous experience, Etude House eyeshadows can also be a hit-or-miss. Some of them are pretty decent! In fact, there used to be this one pink single shadow from them that I used daily and stocked up on too. However, their formulas seem to lack consistency and so there are some shadows that are really lacking in pigmentation (and by that, I mean that I have some pans where I can’t even pick up any colour).

So, let me talk about this product in depth and give you my thoughts of every individual shade.

Review: Spring Strobe Spectrum (Zoeva)

I did not walk into Sephora expecting to buy a highlighting palette. In fact, I hadn’t even used anything from Zoeva before, so I had no idea about the quality of their products. However, since swatching this product in store, I was so obsessed with the colour that I went back to get it. This Strobe Spectrum comes in three shades for three seasons – Spring, Summer, and Winter.

Why is there no Autumn? I’m not sure.

I was originally looking at the Winter palette because the colours looked so pretty and pigmented in the pan. However, the colour of the Spring palette completely took my breath away! In the pan (and in pictures too, as you will see below) the colours actually look like nothing special. They all look extremely pale and similar. However, once you actually apply the product, you will find that they have a beautiful rainbow shift – perfect for the unicorn make up that is trending now, and a lot more effective than the rainbow highlighters.

Keep reading to see swatches.

Review: Sweet Peach Collection (Too Faced)

I am one of the luckiest girls in the world – I swear. I had been eying this Sweet Peach Collection from Too Faced for a long time. Part of it was definitely the famous scent (which is amazing, by the way) and another part was this super cute packaging! For my birthday, I had a dinner get-together with a bunch of friends and some of the girls got together to spoil me with both the palette and the blusher from this collection. It’s my first experience with Too Faced products and I’m definitely not disappointed. These are all available for purchase from Mecca or US Sephora and, aside from these two products, also include lip glosses and a glow palette. There have been even more releases from Too Faced for the holiday season lately and I’ve been also keen to try them out.

Until I get my hands on them though, let’s talk about these two products!

The first is the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Collection which, according to the website, is a ‘new take on neutrals featuring fresh-picked shades of peachy pinks, corals, bronzes, and pops of purples that will have you looking sweet as a peach year-round.’ I also have on hand the Papa Don’t Peach (which is the cutest pun I have heard in a long time because I legitimately love that song). The website states that, ‘This peach essence-infused blush is the perfect bronzy peach shade that adds a pop of warmth, a sexy glow, and fresh juicy scent to any complexion.’

These products all smell like peaches, claim to suit all skin tones and have a rich, pigmented formula. I have been using them almost every day and I find that they’re perfectly suited for any sort of occasion.

Read on and I’ll get a bit more in depth with it all!

Brand Spotlight: Fenty Beauty

Fenty Beauty Sephora Review

Regardless of whether you’re a kbeauty fan or a western beauty lover, there is no doubt that Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty release is the launch of the year! There’s been so much talk about it all over Instagram and Youtube and, even though I thought that I would be avoiding this rush – I caved.

With how fast things were selling out, I headed to Sephora during my lunch break and got a couple of products that I’ve been especially in love with. There’s actually a few more things that I wanted to get but I wasn’t absolutely sold about them yet, so maybe I’ll pick them up later. For now, I have the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo and a Match Stix Matte Skinstick. Although it isn’t the full collection, I think that I have a good enough variety to give my thoughts on this brand – it’s strengths, weaknesses and why I am obsessed!

As I disclaimer, I had to admit that I do love Rihanna as a singer and a celebrity. I haven’t been following much of her recent work but she was one of my idols during high school and music college – I love her Good Girl Gone Bad – Rehab sort of era and it’s been years and I am still not over it. That being said, I judge make up products by the quality and not the celebrity behind it so below are my honest opinions on everything.

Are you ready? Let’s go!

Review: Flawless Pore Pact & Shading Presso (Son & Park)

Son & Park Flawless Pore Pact Shading Presso BB Cosmetic Kbeauty

I had these photos and this post drafted for so long that I was beginning to forget that I hadn’t written the review yet! These are two products that I recently received from BB Cosmetic to review and I have been using them almost daily. Some people may know that I’ve tried out a few Son & Park products in the past and they have generally always left a good impression on me, so I had pretty high hopes for these products.

The first product that I chose was the Flawless Pore Pact, which is a pressed translucent powder, as I’ve been wanting to try a few more of these products. I’ve also been looking for something that would be easy to carry around for touch ups. The second product that I checked out is the Shading Presso, which is a three toned pressed contour palette – and I was pretty keen to try this out as I recently started to hit pan on my favourite Artclass by Rodin Shading and I wanted to try some new ones before I repurchased anything.

I’ve been testing out these products for quite a while so read on for my full review and, if you’d like to get your hands on them yourself, you can go to BB Cosmetic – and don’t forget to use my code for 8% off. I don’t make any money from it, but you do save a bit, which is always nice: QAL3F6ZA8YZ

Review: SSIN Stealer (Unpretty Rapstar)

Ssin Stealer SSSINIM and Unpretty Rapstar Cosmetics Review

SSIN is one of my favourite Youtubers, seriously, and so when she released her first collaboration with Unpretty Rapstar, I was ridiculously excited but it was difficult to get my hands on the products because I don’t live in Korea and the brand was still relatively new at the time (I think so, anyway). I wanted to buy it while I was in Korea but I ended up leaving without it… and in retrospect, I sort of wonder why I did so. Since then though, I’ve been fawning over it online and it’s taken me so long but I finally got my hands on it. BB Cosmetic recently sent me multiple products from this entire line to write about. Regrettably, these products are now being discontinued and SSIN has moved onto her second collaboration (and this time, it’s with Too Cool For School) but I enjoyed these products so much that I wanted to write about them anyway. If they are an example of the sort of products we can expect from Unpretty Rapstar, I’ll be looking to trying out more things from their brand too. In Korea, they are sold at a fashion store called Wonderplace but, for those who are internationally based like myself, you can find these products at BB Cosmetic.

At the time of writing this, these products are still available on the website but only in extremely limited quantities, so get in fast if you’re wanting to get them. BB Cosmetic does free shipping for all orders (no order limit) and you can also get 8% off with my blogger’s code: QAL3F6ZA8YZ. They also have a great range of other things that you can check out too.

Read on for my thoughts about the SSIN Stealer Long Take BrowcaraMasking Color Corrector, Spotlight highlighter and Frame Shadow Collection eyeshadow palette!

Review: Fingerpens (16Brand) – For Eyes/Lips/Cheek

Oh My Stellar Kbeauty Review 16Brand Chosungah Fingerpen StyleKorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

This is actually going to be my second time reviewing these Fingerpens (and you can find my first post here) but there is actually such a range and so many different uses for these multi purpose pens that the product is actually really different. In the past, I have tested and written about their contour/highlight pens but, for this one, I’ll be trying out two of their Eyes/Lips/Cheek pens – one in a matte consistency (which is what I assume M stands for) and one in a aqua consistency (which is their hydrating formula). Both of these are actually multi-purpose products and can be used for eyes, lips, cheeks.

These pens are from 16Brand; a new, trendy cosmetic brand that was started by make up artist Cho Sung Ah that is a little bit reminiscent of the poppy style of her main brand ChoSungAh22 and a little bit 3CE (which we all know that I love the branding of). At the moment, these are on sale for USD$11.77 on the StyleKorean website (discounted from the full price of USD$13.08) so I think it’s a pretty decent price point – not exactly cheap, but it’s not too pricey either. Once you get hooked on them, there is a tendency to want to collect them all; so fair warning!

If you’d like to read about my first impressions on the packaging (and the contour/highlight pens) check out my first post, or read on and I’ll jump straight into my impressions on the lip/cheek/eye formulas!

Review: Fingerpen (16Brand)

Sixteen 16 Brand Fingerpen Review

These Fingerpens were everywhere in Korea but, annoyingly enough, the shading colour that I wanted was sold out everywhere that I went. I was actually worried that I would only be able to buy the highlighter and not the other shades. I ended up buying these from two or maybe even three different Watsons stores in both Seoul and Jeonju – that’s how desperate I was. I went in knowing that I wanted to buy them though because I saw the brand’s launch on Instagram and these products looked amazing. 16Brand is launched by one of Korea’s top make up artists, Jo Sung Ah, who is also the genius behind LUNA and ChoSungAh22. The brand is the sister brand on the latter, so you can understand why I was on board so quickly.

She has a thing for quirky, trendy make up products that both look amazing and are good for the skin. I wasn’t at all surprised by the launch of these Fingerpens, which are interesting multi-purpose products that have a creamy and hydrating formula. There is a really wide range of colours but I chose to get just the shading, highlight and a shimmer for now. In retrospect, I kind of wish that I got more of these but I was at first unsure of how the pinks would blend as blushes. I am also not very comfortable using a face product on my lips, as I feel it won’t have the same functionalities that are needed. Regardless, they were all really pretty and these products blend like a dream, so would have been a great, versatile product to have in my collection.
