Brand Spotlight: Smith & Cult

I had been eying some of these Smith & Cult products since I first saw them online – and now they’re finally stocked at Sephora and much more easily accessible, so I just had to write a post about them. This brand is founded by the same woman who did Hard Candy (Dineh Mohajer launched it in the 90s) so you know that they have plenty of experience and knowledge in all things nails and beauty. Similarly, Smith & Cult started out with their nail products first and have now branched out into cosmetics, and I really couldn’t be happier about the quality of their products!

These were sent to me as samples from PR, but I had actually contacted them myself about reviewing the brand because I was personally so impressed by the quality of what I had seen at Sephora! Of course, I did want to get more information about them as well, as I feel like they have been a bit under-represented outside of Instagram (where their unique nail polish bottles are a blogger’s haven), so it was really good to get an insight into their brand values and their range too.

So Smith & Cult is, according to the website, all about the duality of personalities – represented by bold, sharp colours and cosmetic looks. In a way, their concept is a bit similar to Urban Decay (another favourite of mine); feminine, edgy and unique. It’s easy to see why I’m such a fan, since they embody all of the values that I hold so dear to me. All of that said, today I’ll be discussing three products from their line and giving you my thoughts on them – The Tainted Lip StainedLash Dance Mascara and a selection of their Signature Nail Polishes.

Brand Spotlight: PACKage

Pack-age Float Mask Bundle BB Cosmetic Kbeauty Review

PACKage is a fairly new brand where it comes to Korean sheet masks (and masks in general), but they’re definitely getting some attention online – most famously for their ‘mask bundle’ which I will be reviewing for you today! When BB Cosmetic sent me some products to test out, they were also super generous and sent me some extras of the masks and I’m now trying to decide if I’ll be sharing them out to my family or saving them for a give away – or hoarding them because they’re super cute!

There isn’t a lot of information that I can find about this brand, so my introduction here will be short, but read on to see a box set of their masks – perfect for the skincare fanatic and gifting – as well as reviews on the individual products! The masks for available for purchase on BB Cosmetic and you can buy the separately (Everyday Bouncy Sheet MaskMelt Me Softly Blackhead Nose Strip Pack, or the Monthly New Feet Foot Peeling Liquid Mask) or in the box set, Float Mask Bundle Set Hapoom Collaboration, which includes 17 masks in total. They have free international shipping with no minimum purchase, and you can also get an additional 8% off with my code (which I don’t make money from, but will bring down that cart total): QAL3F6ZA8YZ

Brand Spotlight: Bueno

Bueno BB Cream Cushion Cleanser BB Cosmetic Kbeauty Review

I’m really excited to be testing and sharing with you guys a new brand today! This one is called Bueno and I actually hadn’t even heard about them until BB Cosmetic approached me about reviewing a few products from them. Looking online, I’m having trouble finding much information about them but hopefully, as their products are further introduced into the foreign market, then more details will be available in English.

For this brand spotlight post, I’ll be discussing and giving you my thoughts on three products from their line – all of which are available for sale on BB Cosmetic. The brand does have some other skincare products that are available but, for now, they’re still not for sale on this website.

I’ll be sharing with you two cosmetic products and a skincare product – that is, the Pure Moonlight Rose Floral Cleanser, the EGF Double Essence Pact and the Intensive Care Blemish Balm.

Remember to check out BB Cosmetic to get your hands on these . They have free international shipping with no minimum purchase, and you can also get an additional 8% off with my code (which I don’t make money from, but will bring down that cart total): QAL3F6ZA8YZ

And, without further pointless chatter from me, let’s get right into it!

Brand Spotlight: Fenty Beauty

Fenty Beauty Sephora Review

Regardless of whether you’re a kbeauty fan or a western beauty lover, there is no doubt that Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty release is the launch of the year! There’s been so much talk about it all over Instagram and Youtube and, even though I thought that I would be avoiding this rush – I caved.

With how fast things were selling out, I headed to Sephora during my lunch break and got a couple of products that I’ve been especially in love with. There’s actually a few more things that I wanted to get but I wasn’t absolutely sold about them yet, so maybe I’ll pick them up later. For now, I have the Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation, the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo and a Match Stix Matte Skinstick. Although it isn’t the full collection, I think that I have a good enough variety to give my thoughts on this brand – it’s strengths, weaknesses and why I am obsessed!

As I disclaimer, I had to admit that I do love Rihanna as a singer and a celebrity. I haven’t been following much of her recent work but she was one of my idols during high school and music college – I love her Good Girl Gone Bad – Rehab sort of era and it’s been years and I am still not over it. That being said, I judge make up products by the quality and not the celebrity behind it so below are my honest opinions on everything.

Are you ready? Let’s go!

Brand Spotlight: Skin Editor

Skin Editor Kbeauty Skincare Review Lilac & Berries

It’s been a while since I first wrote about Skin Editor – you can find my previous post about them here – but with the launch of some new products and them being stocked with Australia online store Lilac & Berries, I just had to write about them again! This is going to be a brand spotlight post with some first impressions on the new products, which they so kindly sent over for me to try, as well as a recap on the rest of their line which they have also sent over again.

According to Lilac & Berries, “Skin Editor is founded by Morvanic – a company formed by qualified pharmacists. The company is specialized in treating skin post laser, peeling and clinical care. Their products have been distributed exclusively to hundreds of skin clinics in Korea in the last 10 years.

Skin Editor products are introduced to the market for everyday consumer, its products contain EGF, centella asiatica extracts and hydrating properties such as beta glucan.”

As mentioned, Lilac & Berries is Australian and they currently only ship to Australia and New Zealand. This is great for us locals because it means that we won’t have to deal with exorbitant shipping and exchange rates but, for those internationally who wish to purchase, you can buy it on Amazon from Skin Editor.

At the moment, two of Skin Editor‘s products are available for purchase on Lilac & Berries, though I am sure that more of them will be made available later on. Let’s move into the post now!

I’m so sorry for my general absence on everything except for Instagram lately – work has been dragging me through life! That being said, I did take the time to post a haul video on the fun products that Miniso Australia gifted me to review – check below for the haul video. There is also a make up tutorial for my look in the video, using all of these products (all of which you can get for under $8) – that will be coming up in the next week or two, depending on when I get an entire day to myself to edit.

Brand Spotlight: Bio Oil

Bio Oil Review Australia Beauty Blogger

There are some skincare products that are so effective and so simple that they become essentials in our day-to-day life: Bio Oil is very easily one of them. I used this magical oil back in my college years, after having read online about it’s benefits of healing scars (and stretch marks, but those were a happy discovery later on). I talked on Instagram about my previous experiences with this product but also stated that I didn’t want to go into personal details here on my blog, as I do believe in keeping this a happy space and letting the past be bygone, so I hope you’ll forgive me for not being too explicit! Regardless, I will do my best to discuss with you my experiences and opinions on this great product.

I was approached to do a brand spotlight write up about Bio Oil and I was really happy to do this, since this is something that I’ve used for quite a while and really believe in. I have also gotten my sister and her family onto using this oil for various needs too, so you can definitely believe that I’m not just writing this because I can.

So this product claims to improve the appearance of scarring, stretch marks and uneven skintone. It has won 27 skincare awards and has become the number one selling scar and stretch mark product in eleven countries since it was launched globally in 2002. I have personally never used it as regular skincare (such as for skin tone, anti-aging etc) so I can’t vouch for those properties, but I can say that this product was great for minimising scarring and in helping to lighten stretch marks.

All of what I write has to do with my personal experience with the product, but I have noticed online that there have been some mixed reviews and concerns. Some, such as myself, saw great results from using the product while others question many of the ingredients included in it. I have put in an external link at the end of the post for people who want to look into that.

Brand Spotlight: Genie Beauty

Genie Cosmetics Beauty Review Brand Spotlight

I have two places that I tend to work at – in an office, where I can spend up to seven or eight hours in front of my computer, or on location when I am shooting under various different weather conditions. I’m not someone who likes to go through my days bare faced though and base make up, eyeliner, blush and lip balm are my daily neccessities. For this reason, I’m always looking for products that have great longevity as well as look good on my skin. Wanting to put together a list of ‘office essentials’, I was recommended to try a collection of products from Genie Beauty – a brand that is sold via TVSN. After looking though the wide range of products that I offer, I decided to try out a few different things from them: a base powder, a colour correcting powder and two mascaras – which I had tested as a set.

A lot of Genie Beauty products are targeted towards a more mature audience, with a lot of anti-aging care, but this doesn’t mean that it isn’t suitable for younger skin. Out of the products that I tried, their formulas are light and effective, with a focus on giving you a beautiful – but natural – finish. This brand focus comes from their story, where the creator Lisa Claycomb originally developed the Instant Line Smoother (a clear cosmetic to instantly smooth away the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, bags and puffiness) for her mother. Although I didn’t try that product, I’m definitely keen on giving in a shot in the future.

Instead, let’s move on to what I do have!

Review: SSIN Stealer (Unpretty Rapstar)

Ssin Stealer SSSINIM and Unpretty Rapstar Cosmetics Review

SSIN is one of my favourite Youtubers, seriously, and so when she released her first collaboration with Unpretty Rapstar, I was ridiculously excited but it was difficult to get my hands on the products because I don’t live in Korea and the brand was still relatively new at the time (I think so, anyway). I wanted to buy it while I was in Korea but I ended up leaving without it… and in retrospect, I sort of wonder why I did so. Since then though, I’ve been fawning over it online and it’s taken me so long but I finally got my hands on it. BB Cosmetic recently sent me multiple products from this entire line to write about. Regrettably, these products are now being discontinued and SSIN has moved onto her second collaboration (and this time, it’s with Too Cool For School) but I enjoyed these products so much that I wanted to write about them anyway. If they are an example of the sort of products we can expect from Unpretty Rapstar, I’ll be looking to trying out more things from their brand too. In Korea, they are sold at a fashion store called Wonderplace but, for those who are internationally based like myself, you can find these products at BB Cosmetic.

At the time of writing this, these products are still available on the website but only in extremely limited quantities, so get in fast if you’re wanting to get them. BB Cosmetic does free shipping for all orders (no order limit) and you can also get 8% off with my blogger’s code: QAL3F6ZA8YZ. They also have a great range of other things that you can check out too.

Read on for my thoughts about the SSIN Stealer Long Take BrowcaraMasking Color Corrector, Spotlight highlighter and Frame Shadow Collection eyeshadow palette!

Unboxing & Review: Althea

Althea Haul Review Banila Co Laneige Skinfood Innisfree

With all of the make up that I tend to buy while I’m on holidays, as well as the blogger gifts that I get (which I am so ridiculously happy and thankful for, seriously), I actually don’t buy make up as much as people think that I do. In fact, I think this was my first purchase since coming home from Japan – which I think is pretty impressive with my shopping addict history. This time, I decided to try out a new online store that I had seen my other blogger friends posting about on Instagram – Althea. I’d heard such great things about them and I loved the professionalism of their website, so I went for it.

For this order, I needed to buy a refill for my HG cushion, the Laneige whitening cushion, which isn’t exactly a cheap cushion to be using. I was having trouble finding places online that sold only the refill, so I settled for buying another set but I was searching online for where I could get the best deal – especially since I also didn’t want to pay exorbitantly for shipping. I did see it online at other stores but, at the time, they were out of my colour and I could only find it on an ebay store (which I had never heard of and couldn’t find proper reviews for) and on another online store that I have decided not to purchase from again in the near future because of their poor customer service and ridiculously slow shipping (where products aren’t going out of the warehouse because of understocking). Both of these places, I was very uncertain about buying from so I was so happy when I came over Althea!

What won it for me was that, aside from selling the Laneige cushion for a very fair price, they also had in stock the limited edition Banila Co x Taeyeon colour kit that I’ve been desperately trying to get on my hands on. It was a quick decision and here I am.

Read for my haul post and remember that this is not a sponsored post. This is my own shopping experience that I enjoyed so much, I had to share.
