I bought this cushion on a whim while I was shopping the sales on G-market. Although I don’t review Etude House a lot, I am a big fan of their brand and have used a lot of their things. In fact, before I got into BB cushions, my daily go-to product was their precious minerals BB cream! To this day, I still love that product; it matches my skin well, gives me great coverage and feels good on the skin too. However, as a beauty enthusiast who basically spends every hour of the day testing and critiquing, I find that some of their products are a bit of a hit or miss – better to buy after testing in person.
However, there is no one who can deny that Etude House is winning at the packaging game. Their flag ship stores in Korea are absolutely beautiful and all of their products are super on brand; they’re always pushing the design aesthetics and coming out with cute, interesting concepts too. Even people who don’t like how pink and cute the Etude image is, you have to admit that they are great at what they do.
So, naturally, I got suckered in by the packaging of this super slim, nautical inspired cushion and put it right into my cart so quickly. This cushion comes at the time when sun cushions we’re popular in Korea. They don’t have skin shades but, like the 3CE white milk cushion, is white toned and intended for brightening the skin tone during summer. They are definitely not for everyone and I think that some skin tones would look ashy with this applied, but it works well for pale to medium complexions.
These Fingerpens were everywhere in Korea but, annoyingly enough, the shading colour that I wanted was sold out everywhere that I went. I was actually worried that I would only be able to buy the highlighter and not the other shades. I ended up buying these from two or maybe even three different Watsons stores in both Seoul and Jeonju – that’s how desperate I was. I went in knowing that I wanted to buy them though because I saw the brand’s launch on Instagram and these products looked amazing. 16Brand is launched by one of Korea’s top make up artists, Jo Sung Ah, who is also the genius behind LUNA and ChoSungAh22. The brand is the sister brand on the latter, so you can understand why I was on board so quickly.
She has a thing for quirky, trendy make up products that both look amazing and are good for the skin. I wasn’t at all surprised by the launch of these Fingerpens, which are interesting multi-purpose products that have a creamy and hydrating formula. There is a really wide range of colours but I chose to get just the shading, highlight and a shimmer for now. In retrospect, I kind of wish that I got more of these but I was at first unsure of how the pinks would blend as blushes. I am also not very comfortable using a face product on my lips, as I feel it won’t have the same functionalities that are needed. Regardless, they were all really pretty and these products blend like a dream, so would have been a great, versatile product to have in my collection.
I’m surprised that I haven’t written this review yet but it’s probably because I’ve been testing so much 3CE lately that I wanted to spread it out a little. Either way, here’s another one of a product that I sort of bought on a whim. I originally wanted to buy a slightly darker tone but this peach colour was recommended to me by the store assistant. Me and Sophia were in Haeundae, Busan shopping around when we found a duty-free mall (and where I also spent a good portion of my money). One of the first stores that we found was 3CE and, since I had a few items I was already interested in, we basically rolled towards it.
This is the store where I bought quite a lot of stuff – eyeshadow, two foundations, blushes, highlighter… and I even got their CC cushion as a free gift (review which I haven’t written yet but I do love it). This cream blusher was, in a way, a pretty impulsive buy. The packaging was nice, the pigmentation was nice and I had already bought so much that I thought why not? So I did and, while I do love the colour that was recommended to me, I’m actually a bit on the fence about the formula. Read on for my full review!
Those who have been following my blog for a while know that I have a pretty long term collaboration relationship with Klenspop, a Korean online contact lens store that I absolutely love and wear day-to-day. I’ve always been satisfied or even super impressed by the quality of their products, the affordability and their range so I’m happy to be able to bring you guys new photos, new reviews and new lenses. To kick off lenses in 2017, I’ll be showing you a set that they send me at the end of the last year (and I hadn’t been able to photograph yet until now).
This is the Lizzy Blue lenses by SIO Color, which are silicone hydrogel lenses – they are meant to be more comfortable, allow more oxygen to your eyes (which isn’t directly linked to water content, apparently), and allow for longer, extended wear. A lot of people are absolutely obsessed with subscription boxes and I can totally see the appeal – affordable prices, a good selection of curated beauty products and everything is shipped straight to your front door like a personal surprise. I’ve always been hesitant about them though, mostly because I am a bit particular about what brands and types of products I like so I don’t want to be spending my money on things that I’m not interested in. However, this is a bit of close mindedness from me (I admit) so for the coming year, I’m wanting to look more into subscription boxes as well.
For my first foray, I’ll be unboxing the December box from MISHIBOX – a Korean subscription box that is actually fairly well known. They also have an online store where you can buy products individually but, of course, they are much more well known for their bright pink bunny ornamented packages (i.e. these ones). This Innisfree Ampoule Moisture Cushion was, in a way, one of the fastest purchases of my life. However, it also took the longest because I ended up in store for another hour or so shopping and buying everything else (and I bought a lot there… which I completely blame on Sophia and her bad influence). For this reason, I’m actually somewhat surprised that it took me to long to write this review. It has been sitting in my drafts since last year October and, while I had already made up my mind and gathered my thoughts about this product, it seemed that I was a bit lazy about getting it all down in post form. Well, what else is new? Haha.
Anyway! So this is a BB cushion that Sophia recommended to me while I was in Korea. This is the product that I used alongside my IOPE for the entire time was I was in Korea – it was cold, windy and my skin was drying out like a desert. I was in serious need for something really hydrating and, being a big fan of the dewy finish, I naturally gravitated to this cushion. All it took was one swatch on my hand and I told the store assistant to gather it up for me.

So many people talk about how amazing Pony’s products are (from both Pony Effect and her collab with Memebox… which I honestly don’t think has much difference at all) that, when I was in Korea, I knew that I had to get my hands on a few of her products. I found these eyeshadow palettes on Memebox’s official Gmarket store so I ended up ordering both the Shine Easy Glam 2 and 3. The one I’ll be reviewing today is the number 2 which features eight shadows ranging from nudes to a more eye-catching purple and pink. I didn’t look at any reviews before buying this, (As I never do, I like to make my own decisions) so I thought that it would make for a good day-to-night tradition palette. The colours seemed versatile, though they are pretty much all shimmers. Since this was brought out by Pony, and because so many people rave about it, I was hoping for some amazing pigmentation and creamy formulas but… to be honest, I’m pretty disappointed. It’s not terrible but I expected more.
That being said, the price point for this palette is pretty good and you can buy it on Gmarket for ₩24,000 or Memebox for USD$30. It’s a lot cheaper than what I usually pay for American brands so, even if it’s not everything that I wanted, I’m still okay about it. To get my full thoughts on this product, read on!

It’s been a while since I really wrote about a new release but I’m really glad to get the chance to try and write about Olivarrier. I love seeing new brands launch in the beauty industry, partly because we are always so tough about the products and also being it’s wonderful to see new perspectives break into what is sort of like a closed circle of beauty companies. Fresh perspectives, new products and industry developments – I live for that. I was sent these products to test and review by RoseRoseShop who are so great to beauty bloggers, always seeking out (and giving) honest opinions for their customers. So Olivarrier is a fairly new brand that launched around late last year. It’s still fairy new even with us bloggers, but I really liked their brand image and concept – all of their products are meant to be controlled at the optimal pH level of 5.5 which, for those who don’t know, is the level you should try to maintain your skin at in order to prevent damaging your acid mantle (your protective layer). You can read more about it here but, basically, your skin can become damaged due to many factors – even natural aging processes.
The brand focuses a lot on safe ingredients, gentle formulas suitable for sensitive skin and strong hydration. They are free of chemical preservatives, coloring agents, fragrances and 26 Allergenic Components selected by the EU.
I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for a lot longer than I thought I would but that just means that I took my time in testing it. But, that being said, this is going to be a rather brief and straight to the point review from me on the Etude House Age Defence Essential Softener.
This is a sample product that I received from BB Cosmetic ages ago but I hadn’t reviewed it yet because I was distracted by all of the other products that I wanted to try. I was also a little bit stumped by how I could possibly give a proper critique on an anti-aging product when, for me, my main use for it would be prevention – however, I did figure it out!
