Review: Kill Cover Stay Perfect Foundation (CLIO)

CLIO Kill Cover Stay Perfect Foundation Kbeauty Stylekorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

In my humble opinion, everyone is looking for the perfect foundation (unless you have perfect skin in which case, thanks – I am very jealous). I’ve personally been trying out a lot of different base cosmetics to try and find something that really works for me; my skin type has changed in recent years from very dry to combination-oily, which was a pretty big jump and can even vary depending on the seasons and weather. A lot of the foundation formulas that worked for me back in the days don’t anymore but, in general, I now prefer to use lightweight matte formulas.

The CLIO Kill Cover Cushion is one that I used back when I first started experimenting with cushions, but I haven’t tried out their foundation until now. This is the Kill Cover Stay Perfect Foundation, which is a liquid foundation that comes in a set with a “hydro makeup sponge”. It comes in four shades and I’ll be reviewing Lingerie (which is the equivalent of a shade 21 and my usual when it comes to their base cosmetics).

I received this from StyleKorean for reviewing purposes so, if you’re keen on getting this, it is available on their website for USD$36 – it is similarly priced in comparison to other CLIO products too, but liquid foundations will last much longer than cushions.

So, let’s get into it!

Review: Lip Motion (B By Banila)

B By Banila Co Lip Motion Lipstick Kbeauty Stylekorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Admittedly, I am a total sucker for Banila Co. I use their oil cleansing balm almost religiously and have also liked most of the cosmetics that I’ve tried out as well. For me, my love for Banila Co started when they brought in Taeyeon as their model and – aside from just loving her in general – I loved how they did her make up and styling for all of the advertising campaigns. I felt like they were so much more trend-forward and lively than the previous Nature Republic advertisements (they started to look real weird in later years).

Since then, I’ve been really keen on the brand and keeping a close eye on their new releases. I find that Banila Co is a bit hard to buy online, since they are mostly just famous for their cleanser, so I practically jumped when I saw that B. By Banila was being stocked at StyleKorean! This is their new sister brand that specialises in cosmetics – so it’s right down my alley.

There are a handful of products from them that are available on the StyleKorean website but I decided to start my first foray into this sub-brand with their Lip Motion lipsticks! These are selling on the website for USD$18 and also come in two different finishes – and I tried out both, of course. I found that I lean towards the matte formula because thats what I’m used to wearing every day but the glossier version is also really pretty and versatile too.

So, let’s get into this review!

Review: Lip Rouge & Powerdation (VT Cosmetics – Part III)

VT Cosmetics BTS Kbeauty Review BB Cosmetics

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that there is an affiliate code advertised. The small profits go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

We are at my final post for the VT Cosmetics reviews! I hope that you have been enjoying these so far and that they have been informative for you in choosing what to buy or to skip out on. In general, I have found the brand to be a bit of a hit-or-miss so I would definitely be looking into reviews for anything I buy from them.

For the last post here, I want to be sharing two more cosmetic products from them and – once again, and quite predictably – there was one that I liked and another that I will not be using again. First off is the Super Tempting Lip Rouge, which I have in two shades with two different finishes, and then there is the Gloria Powerdation which is a matte finish liquid foundation.

All of these products, as well as even more from the VT Cosmetics line and other brands are available at BB Cosmetic, and that you can also use my code for a little 5% discount – QAL3F6ZA8YZ – it isn’t much but personally, I never say no to saving money.

So, let’s get right into this review!

Review: Dailism Eye Palette – Rose Memory (Heimish)

Dailism Eye Palette (Rose Memory) StyleKorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

It’s no secret that I’m an absolute eyeshadow addict but most of my collection is actually Western. There are very few kbeauty eyeshadows that I personally love, mostly because I find their formulations too sheer and light for my style. However, there is one brand that I fell in love with early on in my make up journey – Heimish! You can actually check out my review for their original Dailism Eye Palette way back in 2016 when they were still a very new brand to StyleKorean (right here).

It’s been going on three years now and the Heimish brand has expanded a lot, but I think that I will always be going back to their eyeshadow palettes. I loved the original one so much and I ended up using it as a travel palette over and over again, but I was getting sort of bored of the colours. My own style and preferences have changed a lot since then, so I felt like it was time to revisit the brand again just to find another palette that really speaks to me.

Looking through the Heimish offerings over at StyleKorean, I realised that they have also since repackaged all of their Dailism Eye Palettes! The general case is the same but they now have different colours (to reflect the theme) and their box packaging is also much more beautiful. There are three different colour variants available (Coral Essay, Brick Brown and Rose Memory) and I ended up choosing to review Rose Memory, which has a more romantic and sultry pink theme. It is also a little bit cooler in undertone compared to the other two.

This palette is selling for USD$32 on StyleKorean, which is a minor mark up considering it was originally USD$29.90 back in 2016. With the upgraded packaging and the fact that Heimish is now a much more established brand though, I think that this is a fair price. Check them out on StyleKorean if you’re keen to buy but first – let’s get into this review!

Review: Super Tempting Highlight & Shade Palette (VT Cosmetics – Part I)

VT Cosmetics BTS Kbeauty Review BB Cosmetics

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that there is an affiliate code advertised. The small profits go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Following this post, there’s actually going to be a handful of VT Cosmetics products. They are a brand that I had heard a lot about in the past even before they started collaborating with BTS. For me, although I am a kpop fan, I am not a BTS fan, so my review of these are completely unbiased and I’ll only be discussing the actual products.

That all being said, I have had mixed experiences with VT Cosmetics – some products which I thought were pretty good, while others I didn’t like so much. These two, the Super Tempting Highlight Palette and the Super Tempting Shade Palette, fall a bit little in between (which I will go into below).

I received these, and all of the other VT Cosmetic products too, from BB Cosmetic who were super generous and sent me over so many things from the range to try out! Jump on over to their website if you want to get these ‘super tempting’ palettes – or anything else from the brand. They offer free shipping worldwide with no minimum purchase and you can also use my affiliate code for 5% off: QAL3F6ZA8YZ

But, before you do that, lets get into this review!

Review: R U 16 Taste-Chu (16 Brand)

16 Brand R U 16 Taste Chu Lipstick StyleKorean Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I love bullet lipsticks but, in this case, the packaging definitely won me over. I know! I’m always a sucker for things but like but, considering that this is a 16 Brand product, I was also pretty confident that the formula would be decent! I wasn’t wrong too, because after trying these out, I totally get why some people have been raving about them and I already want more shades.

This is the R U 16 Taste-Chu Lipstick from 16 Brand. They are essentially a blur-look matte finish lipstick that is candy themed. All of the shades are named after some sort of sweet and the lipstick shades (and scents) are good enough to eat. In fact, my mum thought that someone else me chocolate when these first arrived… hehe!

These products were sent to me for review by StyleKorean, who actually carry a really great range of 16 Brand stuff! The lipsticks come in four different shades (which I will discuss below) and I have two here to swatch and review – Brown Fudge and Cherry Almond.

If you’d like to pick these up, they’re currently on sale for USD$14.40 (down from USD$18) on the StyleKorean website but do grab them quickly! They were almost sold out when I looked last and they just restocked, so I think these go quick.

And now, let’s get into this!

Review: Ion Calcium Foundation Double Cushion (MiBA)

MiBa Ion Calcium Foundation Double Cushion BB Cosmetics Review

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that there is an affiliate code advertised. The small profits go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I honestly think that oversized foundation cushions is going to be a trend this year and, to be honest, I don’t hate it! Generally, they’re the same as your regular cushion but, because of the larger size, give you a faster application, a bigger mirror and – obviously – more product. They are more difficult to carry around though, so they’re larger than any of my compacts, so I keep it in my handbag rather than my make up bag.

Recently, I collaborated with BB Cosmetics again and, when I was looking through their website, came across the MiBA Ion Calcium Foundation Double Cushion. I had actually seen this product on Instagram previously (shout out to my babe @mabub.sonyeo) and it caught my eye mostly because of the pretty packaging. I’m a total sucker for illustrations and I loved this more traditional manga style! I had never heard of the brand before but I really wanted to try this out – and I don’t regret it. In fact, this cushion actually impressed me a lot more than I thought it would!

If you want to get this, check out BB Cosmetic. This cushion is selling for USD$28.98) – and they also offer free shipping worldwide with no minimum purchase. You can also use my affiliate code for 5% off: QAL3F6ZA8YZ

But, before you skitter off for that, let’s get into this review!

Tutorial: Valentines Day Look with Althea

Althea Korea Make Up Tutorial Valentines Day Look

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

I was never a big fan of Valentines Day as it always seemed like such a commercialised excuse of an event. Love is wonderful and amazing, but I feel like that’s something we should be celebrating every day. All of those roses and chocolates don’t really mean anything – though admittedly, I would never decline roses and chocolate (especially not chocolate). The thing that I like best about these sort of celebratory days though, is that it gives an excuse for some themed make up looks! And they’re really great for boosting creativity – which is what I’ve needed lately.

Recently, Althea Korea launched a selection of make up from their own brand – all of which they sent me over to play around with and to create a pictorial. In the past, I’ve used their skincare and some setting powders – most of which I’ve loved – but this is actually their first foray into colour cosmetics. The most logical thing to do would be a Korean inspired look but I wanted to do something a little different today.

So, today I’ll be showing you how I achieved this Valentines Day themed look with cute rosy cheeks, some pretty raspberry tones and a cute little heart detailing. Although this is a Valentines look, this is really something you could wear for any occasion – because love is never out of style! I wanted to do something more creative but that would also be wearable enough so that it can be worn outside of instagram.

In this tutorial/pictorial, I’ll be featuring the new Althea Korea cosmetics too so, let’s go!

Beauty: BB Cream vs Foundation (feat Skin79)

StyleStory Skin79 BB Cream vs Foundation comparison

This product was sent to me for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

When I first became interested in k-beauty, I swore by BB cream – I wasn’t fully sure how different it was, because I was around fifteen at the time and had only ever used one cakey pot of mousse foundation, but there were all of these promises about how it improves your skin and how it’s so far superior. The popularity of the product really skyrocketed a few years later when kpop started to spread internationally and everyone was trying to get that flawless idol complexion – “Slather on the BB cream,” people used to tell me.

It’s been years since then and, as I’ve mentioned a lot, I actually started to use foundation a lot more than BB cream. This is primarily because I’ve been more focused on the cosmetic side of things and I wanted something that has a specific finish (lightweight and matte) that was more difficult to find in a BB cream. Because of this, I’ve become very familiar with both of the products – foundation, BB cream and even CC cream (which we’ll discuss at another point).

With the relaunch of the original, holy grail Skin79 BB Creams at StyleStory, I really wanted to delve back into this world and once again share with people the glory of BB creams and why the product became so popular to begin with. I realised that a lot of people still don’t really know what the difference between them is, aside from one claiming to be better, so it really raises the question – Which should I use? Which is better for my skin type?

So, today’s post is going to be a little bit different! I’ll be chatting to you guys about the Skin79 BB Creams (which StyleStory generously sent over to me to help out with this post) but, rather than a review, I’ll be explaining the differences between it and a traditional foundation. And – let’s start!

Review: Ink Velvet Mini Mini Lipstick (Peripera)

Peripera Ink Velvet Mini Mini Lipstick Set Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I love trying out new lip products but, truth be told, I don’t think I have ever finished a lipstick in my life – they’ve gone bad, or been accidentally smushed and ruined, but never actually finished. I’ve always felt like I needed to buy a full size of every product but have since realised what a waste it is. I now much prefer to use mini sizes for lipsticks; they’re better to put in your bag anyway and I still get a lot of use out of them.

In addition, they’re also a brilliant gift idea because they’re easy to create sets with while still being relatively affordable, so you’ll be sure that there’s shades to suit them.

It’s really a perfect idea that Peripera released this set of mini Ink Velvet Lipsticks for the 2018 holiday season and – even though I’m a little bit late with this – it’s okay! This is the Mini Mini Ink Velvet Stick Set which contains a set of five mini lipsticks in varying shades from neutral corals to a brighter, warm red. I tested these out most days since I received them and have also experimented with carrying them around so I’m pretty prepared for this review!

If you want to get your hands on these, they are available on the StyleKorean website for USD$33.60 (full price is USD$42). Otherwise, let’s get on with the review!
