I am finally writing this review! I’ve started a lot of posts and have had to stop lately because I’ve been so inundated with work and it’s really stressing me out mentally and physically. I’m working five days a week, which is pretty standard for most people, but trying to also add in blogging, daily social media updates (which is, yes, a necessity), as well as photoshoots and trying to get back into music… it can really drain a girl down. That being said, I do have a lot of content planned and the photography is done to be shared and posted – so hopefully I can keep the ball rolling.
I’m going to try and keep my posts a little more concise starting from now – especially the reviews. This is mostly because i’m not convinced that people like to read about me rambling on and because short points are probably easier to help people draw their conclusions. Please let me know in the comments below if you prefer shorter, more frequent posts or more lengthy, less frequent posts?
And back on track! Today, I’ll be giving you my thoughts on the Kangsi Pack from Elizavecca. They recently sent me a second package of different masks and goodies to test out for you guys and, so far, I’m really happy with their products. You can read my glowing review of their retinol cream here (no pun intended) and I have a few more sheet masks to review as well. The below product is one of their really popular wash off mask packs, which contains 24K gold and looks like a glittering dream. That is, until it dries.
There are some skincare products that are so effective and so simple that they become essentials in our day-to-day life: Bio Oil is very easily one of them. I used this magical oil back in my college years, after having read online about it’s benefits of healing scars (and stretch marks, but those were a happy discovery later on). I talked on Instagram about my previous experiences with this product but also stated that I didn’t want to go into personal details here on my blog, as I do believe in keeping this a happy space and letting the past be bygone, so I hope you’ll forgive me for not being too explicit! Regardless, I will do my best to discuss with you my experiences and opinions on this great product.
I was approached to do a brand spotlight write up about Bio Oil and I was really happy to do this, since this is something that I’ve used for quite a while and really believe in. I have also gotten my sister and her family onto using this oil for various needs too, so you can definitely believe that I’m not just writing this because I can.
So this product claims to improve the appearance of scarring, stretch marks and uneven skintone. It has won 27 skincare awards and has become the number one selling scar and stretch mark product in eleven countries since it was launched globally in 2002. I have personally never used it as regular skincare (such as for skin tone, anti-aging etc) so I can’t vouch for those properties, but I can say that this product was great for minimising scarring and in helping to lighten stretch marks.
All of what I write has to do with my personal experience with the product, but I have noticed online that there have been some mixed reviews and concerns. Some, such as myself, saw great results from using the product while others question many of the ingredients included in it. I have put in an external link at the end of the post for people who want to look into that.
Here’s to my second giveaway! For this one, I have partnered up with klenspop to giveaway 3 pairs of their coloured lenses to 3 winners (one pair each). I have been using their lenses almost exclusively for months and I stand by their quality and affordability so I highly recommend their lenses.

I honestly thought that I had already posted this review (especially since I’d been using this concealer so much) so I was surprised to find this still in my drafts! This is the Red Concealer by Medicube, which has been really popular online along with the Red Cushion (you can also check out my review of that) which went absolutely viral with their video. As per the rest of their line, these products – skincare and cosmetic – are targeted for sensitive and acne prone skin. They are non-comedogenic, so they will not clog pores, and they also boast a super high coverage that will help you cover up any of your insecurities so you are free to be your beautiful self.
Writing this review, I just want to take the chance to remind everyone that there is nothing wrong with acne, acne scarring or just having sensitive skin in general – it’s a part of life and, whether it is hormonal or you just genetically have more acne prone skin, it’s just a part of you and no one should have to feel that they need to cover up or hide themselves. Unfortunately though, I’m absolutely aware that it can make you feel very insecure and uncomfortable – because I had the same experiences in high school – so I’m personally really glad that companies like Medicube are focusing their attention on products that are not only effective, but also protective of our skin when it is in its more vulnerable state.
So I recieved this product to review from Earlypicker and I tested it together with the Red Cushion, as well as alone, and I actually like this concealer more than the cushion – although I didn’t dislike it either. I think that the coverage of this product is really great and it also wears well through the day too. If you’re interested in getting this product, or anything else from Medicube, check out the entire range available on their store!
Now, onto the review.
A few weeks ago, Elizavecca sent me another package of goodies to try out and review for the blog – and I was pretty crazily ecstatic. One of the products that I was most excited to try out – but also the most nervous about – but this EGF Elastic Retinol Cream. It cleans to be a product used by entertainers (specifically actresses) to achieve their flawless skin complexion. Now, I’m not sure if I believe that these famous kdrama actresses are actually using Elizavecca, but the idea that they’re using a retinol cream for this is actually not much of a stretch.
Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A (also called a retinoid) and is primarily used for wrinkle care and anti-aging to give a more youthful complexion – it has been used in skin care since the 70’s, so it isn’t a new discovery at all. This is an ingredient that is actually backed by dermatologists and you can get both over-the-counter and prescription retinoids (which will be pure retinoid) to used. Retinoids increase cell turnover, so that it is helping to get rid of old and damaged cells. It also thins the top layer of skin while thickening the smoother, second layer to make the skin look more luminous and firm. It also helps to boost collagen production and prevent its break down when it is penetrating deeper into the skin, as well as clearing pores and decreasing oil production (as stated by Real Simple). All in all, retinoids really sound like a magic product!
In addition to this magic, star ingredient, this cream also contains CF-Nest Extract of 80% (which is a very popular product for Asian beauty, helping with moisture balance) and EGF (which is suitable for dry weather and helps to strengthen skin nutrition). Unfortunately, I can’t find information on the % of the retinol ingredient in this, but I jumped right in anyway!
Before trying out this product though, please read all instructions – or at least finish up this review – because retinol is a product that you have to slowly progress your skin into. It’s not okay to just slather your face with it because you will likely not get good results.

I have two places that I tend to work at – in an office, where I can spend up to seven or eight hours in front of my computer, or on location when I am shooting under various different weather conditions. I’m not someone who likes to go through my days bare faced though and base make up, eyeliner, blush and lip balm are my daily neccessities. For this reason, I’m always looking for products that have great longevity as well as look good on my skin. Wanting to put together a list of ‘office essentials’, I was recommended to try a collection of products from Genie Beauty – a brand that is sold via TVSN. After looking though the wide range of products that I offer, I decided to try out a few different things from them: a base powder, a colour correcting powder and two mascaras – which I had tested as a set.
A lot of Genie Beauty products are targeted towards a more mature audience, with a lot of anti-aging care, but this doesn’t mean that it isn’t suitable for younger skin. Out of the products that I tried, their formulas are light and effective, with a focus on giving you a beautiful – but natural – finish. This brand focus comes from their story, where the creator Lisa Claycomb originally developed the Instant Line Smoother (a clear cosmetic to instantly smooth away the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, bags and puffiness) for her mother. Although I didn’t try that product, I’m definitely keen on giving in a shot in the future.
Instead, let’s move on to what I do have!
With all of the make up that I tend to buy while I’m on holidays, as well as the blogger gifts that I get (which I am so ridiculously happy and thankful for, seriously), I actually don’t buy make up as much as people think that I do. In fact, I think this was my first purchase since coming home from Japan – which I think is pretty impressive with my shopping addict history. This time, I decided to try out a new online store that I had seen my other blogger friends posting about on Instagram – Althea. I’d heard such great things about them and I loved the professionalism of their website, so I went for it.
For this order, I needed to buy a refill for my HG cushion, the Laneige whitening cushion, which isn’t exactly a cheap cushion to be using. I was having trouble finding places online that sold only the refill, so I settled for buying another set but I was searching online for where I could get the best deal – especially since I also didn’t want to pay exorbitantly for shipping. I did see it online at other stores but, at the time, they were out of my colour and I could only find it on an ebay store (which I had never heard of and couldn’t find proper reviews for) and on another online store that I have decided not to purchase from again in the near future because of their poor customer service and ridiculously slow shipping (where products aren’t going out of the warehouse because of understocking). Both of these places, I was very uncertain about buying from so I was so happy when I came over Althea!
What won it for me was that, aside from selling the Laneige cushion for a very fair price, they also had in stock the limited edition Banila Co x Taeyeon colour kit that I’ve been desperately trying to get on my hands on. It was a quick decision and here I am.
Read for my haul post and remember that this is not a sponsored post. This is my own shopping experience that I enjoyed so much, I had to share.
I didn’t expect to love this cushion as much as I did but, perhaps it was because I tested this out right after I did the HERA cushion (which I was quite disappointed in) – but my experiences with it was largely positive! I had tested the AprilSkin cushion in white when it first came out, which was meant to be the more hydrating and lower coverage one; though it was still pretty intense. You can see my previous review for it here but, after using this one, I’m thinking that the 2.0 is a very significant improvement and I actually strongly prefer this black version over the white.
I got this cushion is the shade 21, Light Beige, and people will be pleased to hear that this one comes in three shades – 21, 22 and 23. It doesn’t go much darker than lightly tanned, according to the official information, but it’s nice to know that a different undertone has been considered.
Earlypicker sent me this cushion for review and, since AprilSkin is one of their alliance brands, they carry an incredible range of their products (along with Medicube and Glamd) so definitely check out their store if you’re interested in getting this or anything else. You can also read my haul post here and here from them for more information on their service.
And, without further ado, let’s move on to the review!
For this review, I’m writing about a lip colour that has seriously been rocking my world lately. I’m a big lover of deep berry colours and I find myself reaching for them repeatedly – regardless of what formula it is, or if I’m attempting to buy something new. Aside from how it matches my skin tone really well, I also love how a good berry tone can be really deep and matches well with gold and copper eye make up. Overall, it’s really my go to sort of look. I’ve been reaching for this product a lot since I first got it; the colour completely wowed me and I knew that I would be attached to it regardless.
I recieved this product from BB Cosmetic to review and it was sort of a pleasant surprise because I wasn’t actually expecting to get this – but they seemed to almost read my mind and sent me the exact shade that I would be fawning over. This one of the Air Tint Lip Cube from Son & Park. This brand is headed by two Korean celebrity make up artists Son Daek Shik and Park Tae Yun (hence the brand name) and their beauty water is crazy raved about and is basically a kbeauty cult product.
Although I haven’t tried anything from Son & Park before (nope, not even the beauty water), I do have high expectations for their products! BB Cosmetic sent me a couple of their things to test out and I’ll be reviewing this one first up. Ready? Let’s go.
This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.
This is actually going to be my second time reviewing these Fingerpens (and you can find my first post here) but there is actually such a range and so many different uses for these multi purpose pens that the product is actually really different. In the past, I have tested and written about their contour/highlight pens but, for this one, I’ll be trying out two of their Eyes/Lips/Cheek pens – one in a matte consistency (which is what I assume M stands for) and one in a aqua consistency (which is their hydrating formula). Both of these are actually multi-purpose products and can be used for eyes, lips, cheeks.
These pens are from 16Brand; a new, trendy cosmetic brand that was started by make up artist Cho Sung Ah that is a little bit reminiscent of the poppy style of her main brand ChoSungAh22 and a little bit 3CE (which we all know that I love the branding of). At the moment, these are on sale for USD$11.77 on the StyleKorean website (discounted from the full price of USD$13.08) so I think it’s a pretty decent price point – not exactly cheap, but it’s not too pricey either. Once you get hooked on them, there is a tendency to want to collect them all; so fair warning!
If you’d like to read about my first impressions on the packaging (and the contour/highlight pens) check out my first post, or read on and I’ll jump straight into my impressions on the lip/cheek/eye formulas!
