It’s been a while! With the new year just past us, and with me taking a small break from everything just to rest (and shop), I’ll be kicking off this year’s reviews with a product that I was sent from BB Cosmetic. I received this last year but started using it at the end of December when my previous foam cleanser had run out.
This is the first product that I’ve tried from the brand Beyond – they are a cruelty free brand from Korea and I first heard about them from my friend back in 2017 (when we went to Seoul). It’s a very light, bubbling foam cleanser which is suitable as a second cleanser. I also tested it out by itself (without an oil cleanser beforehand) and it actually does a pretty good job of cleaning off my make up so if you’re not a fan of two step cleansing, then you may be interested in this too!
The Apple Mint Fresh Bubble Foam was on sale at BB Cosmetic for USD$8.50 but, unfortunately, it’s currently out of stock. However, I’ll still link the page in case it comes back in later on and you can also check out the Everstar Smooth Foam Cleanser that Beyond makes!
Their online store also has free international shipping with no minimum purchase, and you can also get an additional 8% off with my code (which I don’t make money from, but will bring down that cart total): QAL3F6ZA8YZ
This is going to be a fairly short and simple review, so let’s get right into it!
The product comes in a very easy to use plastic bottle. It’s hard case and relatively sturdy, though it doesn’t look like anything special – in fact, the design of it looks a little bit cheap to me. However, it is functional and very handy. There is a lid on the top which I recommend keeping on so that water doesn’t run into the bottle (if you are keeping it in the shower) and there is a large pump dispenser. It’s really simple and lightweight, as well as hygienic. The only real issue may be that you can’t see how much product is inside and I don’t know if it is possible to use up everything in it.
The pump dispenses the product as a very light foam – this is not a creamy product and you won’t need to build it up. I actually prefer this because I always struggle with getting other regular cleansers to fluff up enough and this feels like it saves me time. The product description recommends 2-3 pumps and I generally only use two.
The product has a very distinctive minty scent and it is quite strong. It isn’t unpleasant but, unfortunately, I’m not a fan of mint scents and so I have to hold my breath while I work it is – this is mostly just a personal thing. The product massages easily into the skin and also washes off without leaving any residue.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I tried this product as both a secondary cleanser (which is the best way to use it) and also alone so that I could test how effectively it cleaned my skin. According to the website, the product ‘removes sebum and impurities in pores and brings a refreshing cooling effect’ and this is accurate to an extent. I didn’t notice any cooling effect (aside from the mint scent) but it worked really well as a cleanser!
I noticed that it removed all of my make up and excess sebum very quickly and I didn’t need to work it into my skin for too long. Being a foam cleanser, I did feel some slight tugging at my skin afterwards (meaning that it dried out my skin) but it is actually a lot more mild compared to others that I have used and also liked. I think that this is a good cleanser to use if you have combination to oily skin. When it is used as a second cleanser, I find that it is less drying on the skin too.
So here’s the verdict!

WOULD I RECOMMEND?
Although this cleanser isn’t perfect for me (mostly due to the scent), I think that the formula is great and effective. If you’re after something simple to use and affordable, I do recommend checking this out. Overall, it’s a very functional and effective product – especially if you’re a fan of mint.
