Bueno BB Cream Cushion Cleanser BB Cosmetic Kbeauty Review

I’m really excited to be testing and sharing with you guys a new brand today! This one is called Bueno and I actually hadn’t even heard about them until BB Cosmetic approached me about reviewing a few products from them. Looking online, I’m having trouble finding much information about them but hopefully, as their products are further introduced into the foreign market, then more details will be available in English.

For this brand spotlight post, I’ll be discussing and giving you my thoughts on three products from their line – all of which are available for sale on BB Cosmetic. The brand does have some other skincare products that are available but, for now, they’re still not for sale on this website.

I’ll be sharing with you two cosmetic products and a skincare product – that is, the Pure Moonlight Rose Floral Cleanser, the EGF Double Essence Pact and the Intensive Care Blemish Balm.

Remember to check out BB Cosmetic to get your hands on these . They have free international shipping with no minimum purchase, and you can also get an additional 8% off with my code (which I don’t make money from, but will bring down that cart total): QAL3F6ZA8YZ

And, without further pointless chatter from me, let’s get right into it!

So above are all three products that were sent to me. Packaging wise, I think that Bueno looks decent – it doesn’t look or feel cheap and the design is well considered. That being said, they also don’t look very creative nor stand out to me. I think that they still have a way to go with their product design in the future, especially since I don’t get a strong ‘image’ from the brand, but they’re off to a strong start (if they are a newbie brand).

Overall, they look like a brand that targets a more mature audience. The packaging in general looks very sleek and the use of gold metallic finish makes it look more traditional too. The price range of their products starts from around USD$16 – USD$30 (on sale) and so it isn’t cheap for a brand that isn’t too prominent, but it’s also not exorbitant.

Pure Moonlight Rose Floral Cleanser | USD$16

One of the products that I have been most excited to try is the Pure Moonlight Rose Floral Cleanser. Aside from how extra that product name is, I love that you can see physical bits of rose inside of the cleanser. It makes for a really interesting product and, while some other brands like Neogen have also been doing it, it is the first time that I have personally used something like this. I was a little bit concerned about possible skin irritation, as I have bad hayfever and a pollen allergy, but I am happy to report that I had no bad side effects at all! In fact, I rather liked this cleanser and I plan on implementing it into my daily cleansing routine.

This product is pH balanced and is a mild cleanser enriched with Centella Asiatica Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ficus Carica Fruit Extract. It is effective for people with sensitive skin and, while it cleanses your skin thoroughly, it also helps to keep your skin moist and will not strip it of natural oils. It claims to be very effective in cleaning off make up too – which is precisely what I tested it for!

Without using an oil cleanser at all, I tested this product by itself for cleaning off make up (which included waterproof eyeliner and mascara, as well as a full face of make up) and I was really surprised at how effective it was! Although it didn’t get off all of my mascara – as I was using a very strong one – the rest of my face was thoroughly cleaned and there was also no drag on my skin. That is, my skin felt really soft and hydrated after use.

The only downside that I see to this product is that it’s very strongly floral scented. Personally, I’m not a fan of it at all but I will be continuing to use it because it is so effective. If you’re a bit sensitive to scents then this might not be the product for you.

THE GOOD

  • Looks really cool
  • Doesn’t dry out or strip skin (pH balanced)
  • Suitable for sensitive skin
  • Cleanses off most make up
  • Leaves skin hydrated and soft

THE BAD

  • Very strongly scented

EGF Double Essence Pact | USD$29

The next one is a pact – which is basically like a cushion case but contains a creamy, balm like foundation. In the past, I have used a few balm formulas before and, while I am a big fan of some, I have also noticed that they tend to be a bit heavier and greasier on the skin. Considering that this is a Double Essence Pact, I also rightly assumed that the formula would be very dewy and more suitable for dry skin. It is currently swinging between cold and hot weather here in Sydney so I have to first put out the disclaimer that I am not testing this product in optimum seasonal conditions. However, I gave it a shot!

The case has a black and gold design, which I think looks pretty elegant and classy. I do wish that it had a more modern sleekness to it though, as the feel is a bit dated. Still, it feels well made and sturdy. It’s a bit thicker than some of the new cases that have been launching, but it’s a fairly standard size and easy to carry around.

On the website, there is only a shade 21 available and the colour is fairly light. It doesn’t oxidise and works well on my skin, but the colour selection is extremely limited and I’m unsure if the company has more shades (at least a 23?)

Opening it up, the compact has a nice and soft puff – it has a thin band, which is more standard and what I prefer to use, as well as a large and full sized mirror. It is easy to use and blend, but isn’t anything special.

The foundation product comes in a swirl on white and beige, which is super pretty. However, as I started to use it, I found that the swirl design was beginning to disappear and I can’t help but feel that this is only a top design and that the rest of the balm is just a plain colour. Aside from aesthetics though, it doesn’t matter that much.

The product is said to contain gold extract, cypress can extract, hyaluronic acid, collagen and niacinamide – while the last ingredient is said to be good for acne prone skin, the others are more targeted towards anti-aging and hydration. I can’t comment much on the anti-aging benefit of the product, but I can definitely assert that it is very hydrating.

As you can see, the formula looks quite bright on my skin and – while it does feel a little heavy – it looks quite natural and gives me a pretty dewiness. It definitely needs to be set before you can put any powder products on top of it, as the finish is a bit sticky and doesn’t fully dry down. It is one of those products where you would avoid touching your face while wearing it.

Overall, I think that this is an alright product – it doesn’t cake up until quite late in the day and its coverage is easily controlled. However, given the choice between this and the BB cream (which is next up), I much prefer the next product.

THE GOOD

  • Simple and easy to carry around case
  • Hydrating
  • No oxidizing
  • Light to medium and buildable coverage
  • Dewy finish that looks natural
  • Wears will through the day with minimum caking
  • Good ingredients

THE BAD

  • Very limited colour choice (?)
  • Slightly sticky finish
  • Feels a bit heavy

Intensive Care Blemish Balm | USD$30

Honestly, I did not expect myself to like this BB cream as much as I did! Although I have had very good experiences with these more traditional creams, I often prefer the portability of the compacts. This product is indeed hard to touch up with during the day (since I can’t carry my sponge around) and so I have had to use the cushion for that. However, the finish of this product is absolutely divine – especially when used with a proper primer – and it also faced very evenly and naturally through the day so that I am still looking fairly good by the time the night comes.

Like the cushion, this BB cream also only comes in one colour – which is super frustrating! I know that some of these creams are said to ‘adjust’ to your skin colour but, unless you are in the vicinity of a shade 21-23 (which I luckily am), it’s really not going to work like that.

That being said, this product is somehow a great match for my skin (most likely because I fit into the standard range anyway) so I managed to review it quite happily.

The BB cream comes in a gold box that is very similar in design to the cushion – most likely because they’re from the same range. The tube is black and gold and soft, so it’s easy to dispense and use the product. All of the packaging is rather simple and more traditional which, at times like these, I actually appreciate. These sort of tubes are easier to use than pumps as it allows for better control and you can use up more of it.

This cream claims to have wrinkle care and brightening properties, while also having SPF 35 – a little lower than the usual 50, but not bad either. It is an ‘all in one’ BB cream that hides pores and hydrates the skin too. In general, this product is a lot closer to the traditional BB creams that I’ve used in the past and I actually really like their formula.

When you dispense and go to use the product, you’ll notice that the formula is very creamy and thicker than a lot of others now. However, it really blends like a dream and feels very light on the skin while still having a medium and buildable coverage. A little goes a long way and I like to warm it use on the back of my hand before applying it over my face.

It also has a dewy finish and looks very natural – even more natural than the pact that I previously mentioned. The product doesn’t cake at all. I have an oily t-zone that gets progressively worse into the afternoon and, while I do see the grease peaking through the BB cream, the actual formula stays largely intact and I can go a full 12 hour day without touch up. Which is important since it’s really hard to touch up with a tube.

Out of the base make up products, I definitely recommend this one!

THE GOOD

  • Easy to control and dispense
  • Creamy and blendable formula
  • Medium, buildable coverage
  • Dewy and natural finish
  • Hydrating on the skin without being heavy
  • No caking at all

THE BAD

  • No colour choice!
  • Hard to touch up with

OVERALL RATING: 9/10 (docking a point off for the non-existent colour range)

And those are my thoughts on the Bueno range! I highly recommend checking out that cleanser (as long as you don’t hate flowers) because it’s a really great, gentle product. The essence pact is alright as well but I really do prefer the BB cream formula – unfortunately though, you will need to be close to my shade to use it. I would suggest this for someone that usually uses a 21 in Korean foundations; for those who are 23, it could also work but any darker and it will look too ashy on you.

So, if you’re keen on any of these products, pop over to BB Cosmetic to check it out! You can also use my code for 8% off your order (QAL3F6ZA8YZand enjoy their free shipping (with no purchase limit).
