I always love trying out new brands and products (especially if they’re viral, new releases) so you can imagine my excitement when I was approached by new online store Early Picker and offered a collaboration with them. They ended up letting me choose a selection of things from their website to review and, naturally, I couldn’t pass up my AprilSkin and the newly popular Medicube. In fact, the Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 and Red Concealer was personally recommended by them as well. They’re so friendly, responsive and great to work with.
So the concept of Early Picker is actually quite simple and you can get it from their business name – ‘early’ because they aim to carry new products quickly and ‘picker’ because they curate their stock selectively. They aim to carry the most popular, trending Korean products the quickest. In fact, I think that they have all of Medicube and AprilSkin’s range. At the moment, the number of brands that they carry is a bit limited but they have the good stuff, and I look forward to seeing them blossom into a larger business in the future. AprilSkin, Medicube and Glamd at their alliance brands, so you can bet that they will be the first place to go to for these brands.
In addition to their reasonable pricing, they also have a special feature called a timed sale. Basically, they take their best selling products and sell them in a bulk buy set, which is discounted from the normal price and has free shipping. If you’re a hoarder (like myself) or if you have a bunch of friends to buy with (probably not like myself), then this would be a great opportunity for you.
Usually, their products also come with a sample pouch which I am told is a really important part of their service – it’s very generous (as you can get up to 12+ samples) and may also include full sized products as samples. Perfect for those of us who like to try new things. At the time of sending for my package, their packing service had run out of pouches and so send it to me without. I actually told them that it’s fine for me to go without but they’ve generously insisted and will be mailing the pouch and more products to me soon! I’ll be hauling the second package once I receive it.
So, moving on, I’ll be showing you guys everything that I got from Early Picker! I won’t be doing in depth with a review as I will have separate posts for everything, but so I was so excited that I just needed to do a haul post again.
APRIL SKIN
So my first foray into AprilSkin was with their original Magic Snow cushion back when they first went viral. They get for high coverage, hydrating formulas with good wearing power but, although I still use their original cushion, it felt a little bit heavy to me back then. Not long after I got it, their new 2.0 products came out and it’s actually taken me this long to get my hands on it again.
This time, aside from three of their cushion/base make up products, I also decided to give their lip products a shot as well. Prior to getting these, I hadn’t actually looked up reviews or videos for these products (aside from lip swatches) so I’m keen to write up a fresh take with my own uninfluenced opinions.
So this one came out right after I did my initial reviews and I love AprilSkin’s cushion compact packaging, so I had to try it. This one is a tension pact style with a mesh netting that promises a matte finish and full coverage. It was also introduced on a Korean beauty show (as a lot of April Skin products are).
This one available at Early Picker for USD$27 and in available in 21, 22 and 23. I personally have the 21.
Rose Glam Moisture Cover Foundation
Okay, so this one was so pretty that it literally drew me in and wouldn’t release me. This is their moisturising foundation and, instead of a puff, it comes with a really pretty rose shaped brush. The packaging is also really unique in that the brush is built in. It looked a bit bulky, but I figured that it would be good to keep at home. This one boasts a velvet, long lasting finish and has a ‘balm’ type formula – similar to the LUNA that I love so much.
This one available at Early Picker for USD$31 and in available in 21 (Light Beige) and 23 (Natural Beige). I use the 21.
The second edition of the magic snow cushion! I had wanted to try this since it first came out and I’m so glad I can now. I have already reviewed the original white cushion, so I thought that I would test out the black this time. This one has a matte, black finished and a very luxe look. This one also uses the mochi cushion design and boasts high, natural coverage, hydration and a smooth application.
This one available at Early Picker for USD$26 and in available in 21, 22 and 23. I use the 21.
And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t get my hands on some lip products. At first, I thought that this would be a tint similar to the Peripera but it’s actually a bit more like a liquid lipstick. The colour range is a bit limited (three colours only) but I thought I would give it a shot because the video looked good. The product is meant to be super vibrant with a long wearing formula and a matte finish. I’ve actually already tried this product and I love it. Highly recommended – so look out for my review.
This one comes in red (Bloody Mary), an orange-red (Tomato Lady) and pink (Peach Crush). I have Bloody Mary and Peach Crush, but I think that I’ll be purchasing Tomato Lady as well to make my set. Early Picker sells this one for USD$12.
I rounded up my AprilSkin selection with another two lip products – their chalk sticks. These ones reminded me a lot of the A’pieu lip crayons that I have. They’re a simple, easy to use product that I really like to rushed mornings. This product boasts a creamy texture, smooth application and long wear. Unfortunately, it also only comes in three colours: Red latte (a luxurious red), Mocha Rose (a dried rose red) and Pave Pink (a warm baby pink). Aside from your lips, the product can also be blended out as blush.
This sells on Early Picker for USD$11 and I have it in Red Latte and Mocha Rose.
MEDICUBE
And, of course, the brand that I was the most excited to rest out was definitely Medicube. They’ve kind of gone viral lately and a lot of Youtubers have been trying out their cushion and concealer as well. Aside from their skincare line, they also have a cosmetic line that is targeted towards an audience with problem skin – specifically acne. They’re meant to have super high coverage, a hydrating finish and be non-comedogenic.
Personally, I don’t have acne or very obvious problem skin – just as uneven tones and texture, so I didn’t look too much into their skincare line. I was worried that I couldn’t give a good review since I wouldn’t see obvious results. I was, however, very interested in their cosmetics.
This was a complete no-brainer for me as it is their most hyped product at the moment. This is the cushion that was in the video that went viral and, from what I see, promises to cover up everything. It is safe for sensitive and/or acne prone skin, covers redness and contains a Porous Silica Powder that helps to draw out sebum. It is also meant to be brightening and help with wrinkle care.
This one is a bit more expensive (as it is even expensive in Korea too) and sells at Early Picker for USD$31, coming in the shades 21 and 23. I have it in the 21.
This is the concealer that was a personal recommendation by Early Picker – I love how friendly and approachable they are. This one I’ve seen over Youtube and the coverage looks great! Similar to the cushion, is it also non-comedogenic and high coverage. The packaging is also really cute and follows their medical theme. I’m glad it came with instructions or I wouldn’t know how to use it properly otherwise.
This one sells at USD$18 on Early Picker and the price really isn’t so bad. It’s a lot bigger than my usual CLIO and LUNA concealers. Like the cushion, it’s available in 21 and 23, and I use 21.
And, of course, I didn’t completely shun their skincare line. Because of their focus on acne-care and being good for sensitive skin, even in their cosmetics, I was really confident that their products would be good. Since the serum promised oil control, removing skin wastes and hydration, I thought that it would be more suitable for my skin problems and that I would have a easier time giving my opinion on it. In the future, I do want to try the rest of their Red line though!
This one sells on Early Picker for USD$35.20 (discounted from their retail price of USD$44).
So that’s my haul for today, guys! I’ll definitely be making a Youtube video hauling these products and the second package, so keep an eye out for that. I will also update this post when the next package with the sample pouch comes in so that you can see how generous they are with that – and I don’t doubt that they will be.
Early Picker is a new online store but they’re very professional, responsive and have a strong sense of what their business is. At the moment, they have a wonderful range from their alliance brands (AprilSkin, Medicube and Glamd) as well as some select products from other brands too. In the future, I look forward to seeing how they’ll grow and expand their services!
