Review: Pofee Circle Lenses (Love Shoppingholics)

Love Shoppingholics Circle Lenses Review

These products were sent to me by Love Shoppingholics for review purposes. I was not paid for this post and affiliate links are not used in this post.

It’s been a while since I last reviewed contact lenses, but I was approached recently by a new lens store and I loved the designs that they carried so I really hopped on to try these out. These lenses are from an online store called Love Shoppingholics (which really sounds like me) – they still primarily contact lenses (from casual lenses to cosplay lenses) but also a small range of beauty and make up products.

When I first went to check out their website, I was definitely drawn to their lenses first – in particular from a company called Pofee. They have some natural looking lenses, as well as some very unique styles that look like a starry galaxy. Out of those styles, I decided to go with the QLO 7 Gray (USD$18.90 on sale) and the Bling Mermaid Gray (USD$18.90 on sale) – and while both of those lenses are labelled gray, they definitely look different.

So, read on for some photos and thoughts on the products!

Packaging & Shipping

The products come to me packaged well and there were no issues with it. I got two pairs of lenses from them, so they also sent me two lens cases (I have so many of these now) – pictured above. They’re super cute but, while I appreciate that they’re unique and not the standard style, the rounded design also makes them a little hard to twist open. I also don’t like that there is no ‘left and right’ labelled on the outside. Instead, the R is embossed on the inside but there is no L either, which isn’t very handy.

The lenses from Pofee, however. came packaged very differently – as you will be below. One came in the standard bottle packaging (which I also hate because I also struggle to open them properly) and the other came in a sealed package.

POFEE BLING MERMAID GRAY | USD$25.90 USD$18.90

These lenses are listed as gray because they have a gray inner ring and then a brown outer rim that gives me a more natural and subtle look – which is quite surprising because the design of this is super beautiful! It does photograph better in certain light, hence the subtlety of the design, so I did have a hard time trying to do it justice in these photos.

The lenses are a slight widening effect with the brown rim, and the gray also has little flecks of metallic gold! It makes me feel like some sort of YA novel heroine and, honestly, if my eyes weren’t too dry to wear these all the time, I think I would. The little flecks are small and mostly catch the eye when they’re in direct light, so I love that these are both unique and wearable.

Details for the lenses:

Diameter 14.5mm
Base Curve 8.6mm
Lifespan 12 months
Water content 45%

They’re very easy to put in and also comfortable on the eye, though if you’re new to wearing lenses then I would always recommend going with a style that has a more ‘natural’ smaller size. I think that these are very suitable for every day wear but would also be a fun party look as well.

THOUGHTS? Personally, I would have preferred if these lenses are wholly gray – I’m not a fan of the brown outer rim as I prefer lenses that make my eyes look brighter. However, the gold flecks are a really beautiful touch! Maybe I should have tried the brown ones for a more natural colour transition, for the blue ones for a brighter appearance.

POFEE QLO 7 GRAY | USD$21.90 USD$18.90

These lenses are technically gray, but their design actually looks like it has a swirl of blue it in to give it a very galaxy sort of feeling – and these were the ones that caught my eye to begin with! Along with the galaxy swirl design, it also features small white stars that are visible when you look closely – not too outlandish, but still very fun and makes you feel a bit like you’re in an anime.

These lens have a natural gradient rim so, while they are still the same diameter as the previous, actually look more natural at first glance. I think the colour combination is also really flattering and I love how they look in these photos! The colour shows up just enough on my eyes without looking too strong, so I would happily wear these as my every day lenses.

The style also pears really well with a bronze/copper eye make up and peachy lips for a very Korean beauty inspired look.

These lenses have the same details as the previous style and, similarly, I also found them very easy to put in and comfortable in the eye. This lens also have five different colours so… I might end up with all of them.

SO WHAT IS IT?

Circle lenses of a swirl of gray and blue, with little white star designs

THOUGHTSI think that these lenses are ridiculously flattering and I love them so much! I would highly recommend for people to try out these because they’re so fun and different, but also looks surprisingly wearable for day-to day.

I love the swirl of the gray and colour combination, but I do find the promotional image a little misleading – this lens is a lot more blue than gray, and I guess the blue would be even brighter?

Out of the two, even though the first was really eye-catching with the golden specks, I feel like the second one actually suits me better. Let me know what lenses you’re keen to try out – and which you think I should make my every day favourite?
