Review: You Glow Glen Coco Kit (Dear, Klairs via Althea)

Althea Angels Dear Klairs Kit You Glow Glen Coco Review Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop Supple Preparation Facial Toner and Toner Mate Cotton Pad

These products were provided to me by Althea for my honest review. Affiliate links are not used in this post.

Dear Klairs is a brand that I had tried before in the past, and that had very good quality and simple products that worked well for my skin. When Althea Korea reached out to the Angels community about reviewing a handful of their products, I jumped onto the opportunity right away! They put forward three different ‘kits’ (these are not sold in kits but were paired together in this way for blogging and review purposes) and I chose their You Glow Glen Coco Kit – which, aside from having the coolest name, I figured would work best for me as it contains brightening and antioxidant products.

For this kit, I ended up reviewing three different items: the Toner Mate 2 in 1 Cotton Pad, the Supple Preparation Facial Toner (pictured below is the smaller travel size, not full) and the Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop – which is a very popular product that I had been curious about for a while!

So far, I have used these products for a good amount of time so I have some great thoughts on it. However, I will also continue to use them (especially the Vitamin Drop) to see how I go with longer term results.

And, without further ado, let’s get on with the review!

Review: Supple Preparation Unscented Toner (Klairs)

Wishtrend Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner Kbeauty Review

This product was sent to me by Wishtrend for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Klairs is one of those brands that I trust – their brand concept of creating simple but effective products really speaks to me and I like that I’m comfortable recommending their products to people with sensitive skin. I previously used their Rich Moist Soothing Cream while I was travelling and it really helped to keep my skin calm in the cold Japanese weather. The Vitamin E Mask was also really great, and an interesting formula too, so they haven’t let me down so far!

The product that I was sent to review by Wishtrend this time is a new release, the Supple Preparation Unscented Toner! This is actually a second version of their original toner, the Supple Preparation Toner which has been a favourite on their website for three years in a row. The only complaint that people had was that they weren’t fond of the scent created by the use of essential oils in the original formula, so those have been removed to create something with the some hydrating formula, but with a much more mild effect on your senses.

Personally, I am actually not very sensitive to scents and I haven’t used the original toner before, but I am a big fan of hydrating toners – especially those that are gentle of the skin and easy to layer up. I tried this product out for around a week and, from my experience, it’s been really good for my skin and definitely delivers what it promises. It is currently selling on the Wishtrend website for USD$21.99 so, while it isn’t super cheap, this is a great option for people with sensitive skin and just want something the worksno frills, no excess.

And with all of that said, let’s get on with the review!

Review: Mist Toner (Pyunkang Yul)

pyunkangyul mist toner skincare stylekorean kbeauty review

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I have so many bottles of mists at home (some new and some half way through) but I love them so much that I’m always keen to try out new ones – and when I saw this Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner, I knew that this would be perfect for me! This is a skin toner and I’m all for putting any water type product into a spray bottle.

StyleKorean sent me this to review and, so far, I’ve used it for just over a week at a minimum of twice a day. The bottle that I have is a 100mL bottle (which you can buy for USD$14.40) – this is the smaller size which is great if you just want to test it out first or if you’re after a travel size. Otherwise, there is also a 200mL bottle which is a better deal at USD$21.60 and would be best to keep at home.

So this review is going to be fairly straight forward but I do want to do a proper introduction to the Pyunkang Yul brand so… read on and get yourself ready!

Review: Refresh Water (Heimish)

StyleKorean Review Kbeauty skincare Heimish Refresh Water

This product was sent to me by StyleKorean for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

I honestly thought that Heimish could do no bad – not after how much I loved their eye shadow palette and lip products – but unfortunately this is a product that really disappointed me. This is the Refresh Water that I was gifted to test by StyleKorean  and, considering that this product had good reviews online and because the ingredients list is actually really clean (aside from alcohol and I have no sensitivity to that), I was really excited about this. According to StyleKorean :

This product clears all remaining dirt and old keratin from the skin, and boosts the effectiveness of other skin care products applied subsequently. The mild enzyme extracted from soybeans works with AHA and BHA for maximum skin exfoliation and moisturization. It contains more than 20 active natural ingredients that amazingly soothe and balance facial skin while providing it with moisture.

In a way, I figured that this product would be similar to a toner – ‘refreshing’ my skin and improving the effectiveness of other products. Unfortunately though, this product didn’t work for me at all! In fact, my skin had negative reactions to the product and I ended up with terrible skin and break outs for two weeks or so; so bad that I had to break out my Medicube concealer and cushion because I was worried about using normal make up.

I was so disappointed about this product, so I had to write this review. Read on for details, as well as suggestions on other products that – in my opinion – work a lot better.

Review: Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water (By Wishtrend)

Wishtrend Review Kbeauty skincare Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water

This product was sent to me by Wishtrend for review purposes. I was not paid for this post but please note that affiliate links are used on my blog. These go towards supporting Oh My Stellar and future content.

Most of us are familiar with Wishtrend as an online store – they sell a careful curation of Korean skincare and make up products; though their focus is mainly on the former. Aside from the brands that they stock (such as Benton, COSRX and Klairs), I found out that they actually have a few of their own exclusive brands. One that I was given the opportunity to test out is their Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water – which is currently offered on their website for USD$22 and free shipping.

To be honest, I didn’t expect to like the product as much as I did, but I do and so I’m really excited to be introducing it here. Essentially, this product is described as a “hydrating and nonirritating exfoliant that can be used daily.” I have been using it at night in replacement of my toner and have tried it on its own as well as as part of my full routine.

Read on for my full review and, remember that you can get this exclusively on Wishtrend.

New Release & Review: Olivarrier

Olivarrier Roseroseshop Brand Spotlight Review Gentle Glow Seed Polishing Mask Dual Moist Toning Lotion Emollient Extra Comfort Cream

It’s been a while since I really wrote about a new release but I’m really glad to get the chance to try and write about Olivarrier. I love seeing new brands launch in the beauty industry, partly because we are always so tough about the products and also being it’s wonderful to see new perspectives break into what is sort of like a closed circle of beauty companies. Fresh perspectives, new products and industry developments – I live for that. I was sent these products to test and review by RoseRoseShop who are so great to beauty bloggers, always seeking out (and giving) honest opinions for their customers. Be sure to check out their store and, onto the review I go!

So Olivarrier is a fairly new brand that launched around late last year. It’s still fairy new even with us bloggers, but I really liked their brand image and concept – all of their products are meant to be controlled at the optimal pH level of 5.5 which, for those who don’t know, is the level you should try to maintain your skin at in order to prevent damaging your acid mantle (your protective layer). You can read more about it here but, basically, your skin can become damaged due to many factors – even natural aging processes.

The brand focuses a lot on safe ingredients, gentle formulas suitable for sensitive skin and strong hydration. They are free of chemical preservatives, coloring agents, fragrances and 26 Allergenic Components selected by the EU.

Review: Age Defense Essential Softener (Etude House)

bb cosmetic review kbeauty korean makeup skincare etude house age defense defence essential softener

I’ve had this post sitting in my drafts for a lot longer than I thought I would but that just means that I took my time in testing it. But, that being said, this is going to be a rather brief and straight to the point review from me on the Etude House Age Defence Essential Softener.

This is a sample product that I received from BB Cosmetic ages ago but I hadn’t reviewed it yet because I was distracted by all of the other products that I wanted to try. I was also a little bit stumped by how I could possibly give a proper critique on an anti-aging product when, for me, my main use for it would be prevention – however, I did figure it out!

So, without any further delay, let’s go onto the review:
